WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Remember when "nerf" was nothing more than those silly foam toys that shot projectiles at unsuspecting targets? Yeah, me too. OMG!! They are nerfing old content!! The sky is falling!! The world is coming to an end!! Cats and Dogs living together!! WHATEVER SHALL WE DO??!!
Leave.
If you don't like it, just leave already. Nobody really cares. It's just a game. Get over it already.

I find endless delight in people screaming about the degree of Nerfs, as though a 20% nerf somehow magically excuses you from doing your job and a 5% wouldn't. It won't prevent you from standing in magmaw fire, won't kill adds for you on maloriak, won't spread you on on chimaeron and it damn sure won't swap tanks for you on halfus or kite them correctly on Cho'Gall. This is a case of people eating their own hyperbole. 20% is a nerf, it is not free cookies from heaven, it does not play the game for you and it does not somehow marginalize your potential accomplishment.
If you haven't done it before 4.2 then that's it, times up. Put your pencils down. You, for whatever reason, didn't get your poop in a pile fast enough to get it done while T11 was handing out the Epeen enzyte. Get over it. Neither did I, or about 96% of the current subscriber base at last estimate. Finally, these are normal modes. If the attentions of a bunch of 4chan rejects is that important to you, go do the totally unchanged hard modes in blues.

Frankly, i think some people complain to much for the sake of griping. Some are crying over this like the the person they don't like got voted into office or something. At the end of the day, i don't think its that big of a deal and some people are blowing it out of proportion.
There's also a lot more to do than just raids. Plus if you're in a good guild, it should be fun raiding with them. If its too easy, go on to Heroics or the Firelands. After that, roll your alt or leave and do something else.
I don't know, i can see why some people are upset, but its nothing new and its not the end of the world.

It kills me that these people think gear availability "nerfs" raids and is a proper substitute for making content more accessible to others. Raid success goes far beyond just gear.

Elite raiders pay for the pizza at the Blizzard staff party.
Progression raiders pay for the beer.
"Casual" players pay the utilities, the benefits, the transportation, the fuel, the food, the houses, and everything else.
Don't chase off your gravy train.

The unspoken reason for these nerfs is to prevent another ulduar from happening. (Where toc had better gear and easier mechanics, making ulduar completely irrelevant to 99% of the population.) Time to go read the articles and be embarrassed when they all said this already.
