The Queue: Claudia Shepard

I impressed myself with how much my Mass Effect 2 Shepard looked like Farscape's Claudia Black. Now you get to see it, too.
Xotzalqual asked:
Will current T11 gear drop in iLvl to match heroic content iLvl when it becomes purchaseable with JP's? Meaning, will it suddenly become iLvl 246 or will it stay 259? I've heard it both ways and I would like a clarification of what exactly will happen to that tier level gear.
Heck, no! The items will remain at their current item level (359). Your method of acquiring them (JPs instead of VPs) is the only thing about them that'll change.
Ziggen asked:
How will we acquire Valor Points in patch 4.2? Of course from firelands raid, but will we still get VP from the heroic dungeons we have today?
Yes, you'll still get VPs for your first seven random heroics and seven Zandalari heroics, up to the 980 Dungeon Finder cap.
Kuro asked:
I need a clever pun name for my Tauren Druid (Bear/Tree). Any suggestions?
Firfur.

I might be too far down the Queue to get answered, but I saw on MMO that Bliz was talking about getting rid of the key ring and all superfluous keys. On the list of keys they were considering to keep I did not see the Karazhan key. I know it doesn't take the key to enter the instance anymore but you still need it to open the gate and the back door. If they take the key out will they also remove the gate/locked back door or will I ever be heartbroken that I can no longer run through Kara once a week?
If it requires a key in 4.1, it will no longer require a key in 4.2. That includes Karazhan.
Britty asked:
Since Patch 4.1 dropped, I've been experiencing a weird type of lag in dungeons. It's a bit hard to describe, but it's similar to what happens when you have a bad internet connection. However, unlike when you have a very weak internet signal, I'm able to type in guild or party and the messages go through. In my experience, it seems to happen more so on certain bosses, in particular ones that like spewing goo all over the place, like High Priest Venoxis and Lord Walden. However, it does happen on other bosses from time to time, but those in particular stick out to me.
However, I don't hear anyone else complain about this. As a healer, this really tends to screw me up, and cause wipes (especially if it's during Blood Venom in ZG, because I go splat since I'm running around waiting for it, and nothing is showing.) It doesn't tend to stop until that particular part is finished.
Is this situational? Am I one of the only people experiencing this? Is there a fix for it?
Note: I know what the poor signal internet is like from using my laptop at my job. My mobile broadband tends to be rather pathetic at most times (Thus, I know typing will not send messages through instantly or at all, if it is the internet.) However, my home internet that I use on my desktop is fine, which is where I do my instances at.
This phenomenon is called desyncing, and it happens to me (a longtime mobile broadband user) all the time. It's when you're still playing, and your actions are going through -- you're just way behind the world server (and the rest of your party). It's especially annoying on fights like, oh, all of them.
It's mainly a symptom of poor signal integrity from your connection. Blizzard tech support recommends a few ways to troubleshoot or fix it. Note that depending on your connection and hardware, it may be unfixable.
Kolonus asked:
I've been seeing the "Assist" function in the Interface menu, in macros, and in many new pet behavioral functions for some time now. Can you please English-ize "Assist" for me?
When referring to pets, assist means the following:
This stance will cause the player's pet to attack the player's target. The pet will not change targets unless the master attacks a new target for a few seconds. When referring to UI functions, it means "target whatever (x player or mob) is targeting." So if you /assist your main tank, you'll target what your tank is targeting at that moment.

So. Who is down for a game of Dungeon Keeper?
Ad134 May 27th 2011 11:30AM
DUNGEON KEEPER?!
You had to say those two words, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?! Now I won't get anything done today.
loop_not_defined May 27th 2011 12:45PM
Dungeon Keeper? Please. All the cool kids hang out in Dungeon Keeper II.
I've been meaning to try the demo for Dungeons on Steam, but haven't had time yet:

I don't recommend you play Dungeons. I found it to be pretty boring. They took Dungeon Keeper and added new ideas to it, but none of the ideas are any good.
Nina Katarina May 27th 2011 11:21AM
Nope, no new JC recipes. In Wrath the epics didn't show up until Trial of the Rennfaire, so I don't expect to see Cataclysm epic gems until the next raiding tier.
Alexa May 27th 2011 12:18PM
Never heard it referred to as "Trial of the Rennfaire" before but that's pretty funny. :) Good one!

I have been have a lot of disconnects since 4.1 ,mainly in dungeons. My wife and I will not get disconnected at the same time and I don't see any loss in my connection using /ping with an -n string in the command prompt. I am always able to reconnect immediately and no other service that requires a connection even stutters. /shrug
My wife and I were in SFK last night and having all sorts of connections problems on the last boss in particular. I put in a GM ticket and was assured that it was my add-ons...per usual. If disabling the add-ons did not work it might be the interface option to optimize network connection (or something to that effect) i was told. Neither solved the issue.
It seems as if this is a fairly common problem that is not being addressed simply because it seems to be intermittent for the large portion of players. Maybe 4.2 will fix whatever weird network issue WoW seems to be having.
-p.s. The baby mammoth from Borean Tundra and the Felhound from the "poop quest" in Hellfire also don't seem to want to leave! Both of the quests were completed and both of the companions just don't want to go home. No word on the ticket for that yet either.
RuzGofDI May 27th 2011 12:01PM
Regarding the baby Mammoth and Fel Hound issue, there was a change made in or around patch 4.1, where companion pets would remain active.
Before this change, there were various different things that would cause a player's non-combat pets to despawn. Going into dungeons, being summoned, flying, hearthing (probably more I'm forgetting). After 4.1, the last pet a player had active would be resummoned (if possible).
As a side effect, anything that was coded as a pet, now gets resummoned as well. So, if you complete the baby mammoth quest and then hearth back to your capital city, the mammoth is going to pop up, and will continue to pop up every time you do something that triggers the "resummon dismissed pet" code.
If you're tired of the mammoth and fel hunter, I would imagine summoning a non-combat pet you may own would clear the quest pet from the game's memory.
Of course, I could be wrong. Haven't had to deal with quest pet problems personally yet.

Have you tried shutting off the "Optimize Network for Speed" option, yet? Sort of surprised this wasn't mentioned in The Queue, as it relates specifically to instance lag.

Tim May 27th 2011 11:24AM
Wait, you can get 70 VP x 7 for heroics AND 70 VP x 7 for ZA/ZG?
Grovinofdarkhour May 27th 2011 11:46AM
I think it's actually 140 VP for ZA/ZG. You just gotta make sure to get there through the "Random" option.
Sunaseni May 27th 2011 12:00PM
VP amounts aside, yes, Normals and Zandalari heroics don't share the cap. Running 7 Zandalari heroics will cap you for heroics. Running 6 Zuls and 2, uh, "normal" heroics will also cap you for heroics. Same with 4 Zuls and 6 Catas. But not 3 and 8, since the 8th Cata heroic will only give JP.

Nothing of vital importance is going to get done the rest of your day. You know it, your office manager knows it. Eat your lunch as usual. If they make you stay at the office, make threatening noises about low blood sugar and their possible indemnity for forcing you into diabetic ketoacidosis.
wilkersonbd May 27th 2011 11:44AM
No offense, but DKA typically occurs when blood sugars are very elevated not when they low from lack of eating
Ant May 27th 2011 11:23AM
LMAO Britty goes through this long post explaining that the internet connection is fine at home and the only answer given is, "Its your internet connection". The Q trolling it's users now. I like it!
Samutz May 27th 2011 12:29PM
It's not trolling if the answer is correct.
It's the same answer I would have given.
loop_not_defined May 27th 2011 1:19PM
This is the answer I would've given, as it specifically affects instances, and not your connection in general:

You can take Belfaire out of the CS Forums, but you can't take the CS Forums out of Belfaire.

Q for the Queue...
I just dipped my toes into the latest arena season and I'm enjoying my current suckage, but I'm wondering with patch 4.2 bringing new raiding tier does that mean the arena season will change over as well to keep pace with the raiding gear ilvl?
I don't recall hearing anything about the arena season changeover, but that could just be me being oblivious.
loop_not_defined May 27th 2011 12:50PM
They announced before the release of Patch 4.1 that the season would be resetting with 4.2. Blizzard actually already added the next season of armor models back in Patch 4.1.
