I'm so glad I play Dungeons and Dragons, experience with Planescape makes this a LOT easier to understand. LOL

Imagine if you will the following scenario, and it will explain a very basic concept of fantasy lore, and why there are some things we will never be able to know or understand.
First, there's a box. In this box is a handful of Fel Iron Ore, a flask of the Foresaken Plague, (you know... Plague Of Undeath), and Lil Timmy. Attached to this flask is some type of volatile triggering mechanism which will activate when that Fel Iron Ore decays, or there is crying on the forums.
In any case, we won't know if Lil Timmy is alive, dead, undead, or all of these states until we open the box. And even then we won't know for certain because what the hell is undead anyway?

But if it activates when there's crying on the forums, that takes all the mystery out of it, because there's ALWAYS crying on the forums.
