The latest build of the
patch 4.2 PTR has revealed a new item that should make you want to stay a while and listen!
Murky's Little Soulstone will summon
Murkablo, who appears to be a murloc-ized version of the
Diablo series' main villain: err, Diablo. It's very likely that this undoubtedly fearsome fellow is this year's
BlizzCon goodie bag pet, though it's also possible that he could be one of the extras for purchasing the
Diablo 3 collector's edition (much like
Starcraft II's Mini Thor). Given the heavy murloc theme for BlizzCon, though, it's likely the former.
There's no model quite yet, but Murkablo's icon is available over at
Wowhead News.
The news is already rolling out for the upcoming WoW Patch 4.2! Preview the new Firelands raid, marvel at the new legendary staff, and get the inside scoop on new quest hubs -- plus new Tier 12 armor!

Diablo 3 collector's edition item, or from this year's BlizzCon because they're announcing Diablo 3's release date. I'm in for the second one.

I'm guessing it's from Blizzcon, but I'm kinda leaning towards the announcement of the next WoW expansion this year. Seems to be the time for it.

I think Diablo 3 is far more likely than news on WoW's next expansion... I mean, we haven't even gotten the second tier of content yet and the game has been out since December... it has almost been six months! Firelands will probably last at least another three months and then Blizz will probably do some raids themed around the Abyssal Maw/Vashj'ir. Once that tier is over, then we may or may not see Deathwing's tier of content. What ever the case, that is another 9 months or so. To cap it off, we know that Deathwing is closely related to the Old Gods and Chris Metzen has hinted that N'Zoth might have a part to play in Cataclysm.... so another potential raiding tier.
It is possible that they will bring up the next expansion but if they do, I am guessing that it will probably be only a very small teaser.

Out game events (blizzcon etc) or paid game events like arena pass:
-Murloc pet! murky, deathy, grunty, murloc costume, murkimus
Collectors edition (with exception of vanilla):
-Whelps! Frosty, Netherwhelp, lil' deathwing, Onyxia whelp
Its definitely Blizzcon pet, no question about it. Diablo III CE pet wouldnt be coming this fast to datafiles and it def wouldnt be murloc. It would be special like Thor is.
Diablo III will be in pretty big light this year, it seems.

I forget that Diablo III is on its way quite frequently, but then I'm reminded by stuff like this.

TBH, I really never appreciated Starcraft or Warcraft before. And to think I got to play WoW for more than 3 years. I'm a Diablo fan all the way. Hell ... I got so addicted to Diablo 1 when I was doing my college thesis (managed to get a good grade, but would have done much better though .. heehee). I have no intention in buying Starcraft 2.
But Diablo 3 CE. F*ck it. I'll reserve one (maybe +2, for my sisters. they're really big fans of diablo as well).

Can I be really blunt here???? So Murky looks like Diablo. That's epic. Now the question I want asked will he or won't he duel Tyrael???? Given the Collector's Edition of Vanilla's Diablo just stands there looking all evil and cute and won't fight Tyrael. Then again, Tyrael just sleeps. Sorry. Got sleepy myself.... In case your lost, the Murky dressed as the Marine from Starcraft FIGHTS the Zerg!!!! (forget which Blizzcon that was). Please for the love of all pet collector's give me another epic pet battle..../crosses fingers and toes

I'm not sure how to answer this without sounding snarky or facetious, but every time I log in and summon him???? I was stationed in Paris, France on a embassy guard duty tour as a Marine and attended the event (ironically before I knew who or what Blizzard was). So, in my opinion, the point isn't mute. :]
