Thanks blizz for making me no longer want to play a warrior.
Altruism May 31st 2011 10:09PM
Not having an instakill macro makes you not want to play a warrior?
lkennis88 May 31st 2011 10:12PM
no, an 8% overal dmg nerf to a middle of the road class in pve makes me falter
Cata rox May 31st 2011 10:18PM
Are you seriously whining over that?
lkennis88 May 31st 2011 10:24PM
You ever seen a flat dmg reduction to an entire class? lets look at it like this, not only were warriors recently nerfed but this is just another intense nerf dont you think?
Kaphik May 31st 2011 10:33PM
This: "no, an 8% overal dmg nerf to a middle of the road class in pve makes me falter", and add in a 5% nerf to Fury.
Frost DKs got their dps nerfed too, I guess we all need to be penalized for wearing plate armor and standing in melee.
Chance May 31st 2011 10:33PM
Yeah I have seen a flat out nerf to an entire class. Warlocks got an overall 12% nerf not too long ago. Though I thought it was needed, I still do top dps on my lock. :) I agree its kinda unnecessary for warriors you guys don't seem all too OP at the moment, but remember 4.2 is still on the ptr and they are just tweaking things, if warriors drop in dps like a brick they will more than likely reverse the change. They're probably trying to attune warriors to not be too OP with gear scaling.
Eregos ftw! May 31st 2011 11:04PM
And feral druids, the lowest of the non-pvp specs (and ele shamans) gets nerfed too. I'm sorry blizz, but doesn't it make more sense to buff other classes that need it to not get wrecked by a class rather then nerfing the class that's wrecking them?

The reason Ikennis is OMGWTFBBQ is that most of Fury's core abilities are multipliers of weapon damage:
Colossus Smash: 150% weapon damage plus 120
Raging Blow: 100% weapon damage from both melee weapons
Slam: 145% weapon damage plus (430 * 145 / 100)
Whirlwind: 65% weapon damage from both melee weapons to each enemy
So that's a >5% nerf to damage for several abilities due to multipliers.
I just did a quickie non-representative beating on a target dummy, and about 1/3 of my damage is from white hits.
This is an across-the board nerf to *all* Fury damage by 4-5%.
I have no OMGWTFBBQ opinion either way, but now you know why Fury players are picking up their jaws.

At least they're still more useful than a ret paladin.
Or a rogue.
Or an unholy DK.
Arrohon Jun 1st 2011 6:46AM
Ret pallys have decent dps, CC, heals, rez (mass rez doesn't always cut it), and an agrro reduction spell (that completely wipes it if glyphed). A WoG or LoH is great if the tank gets hit by a truck and the healer(s) aren't prepared or have the throughout to get him back up fast enough (or a simple OOM). I have both an 85 ret pally and an 85 fury warrior. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.
Lyrd Jun 1st 2011 8:01AM
@SR, I recommend you find a real Ret to raid with sometime...
mrmojoz Jun 1st 2011 9:34AM
Considering Warriors are currently the top end melee DPS, I don't think anyone should be surprised. You folks knew that right? http://stateofdps.com/
Natsumi Jun 1st 2011 9:59AM
What I want to know is why did Arms get nerfed? I may be top of my raid for DPS, but that's because I know my character better than the other DPS, not because my spec does inherently more DPS, I've been in plenty of raids where I was out DPSed by Assassin Rogues, Combat Rogues, and Death Knights, not to mention every single ranged class in the game. Hell, my Hunter does almost as much DPS as my warrior and it has much worse gear (About 10 ilvls below my Warrior) and for a significantly reduced effort (3 button rotation with nothing to watch FTW?) and much higher survivability (Feign Death, Deterrence, and Misdirect vs .... 5% flat damage reduction and maybe I'll parry an attack before getting splattered all over the floor when the Paladin tank loses aggro because he doesn't know how to play his class, happens at least 1 a day)
David Soto Zambrana Jun 1st 2011 10:09AM
Really? When we warlocks got a 12% ALL ACROSS THE BOARD EVERYTHING nerf I didn't see people cry so much about this. And we're a pure dps class that doesn't have to be hybrid taxed.
Natsumi Jun 1st 2011 10:21AM
@David
Um, perhaps you've been hiding in a hole somewhere, but the Hybrid Tax went away with Wrath. If your spec is a DPS spec you should be close to the other DPS specs. If you choose to spec for more utility you are doing so at the cost of DPS (basically a built in Hybrid Tax, no need for artificial restrictions). For Arms this is a HUGE nerf, an 8% nerf ACROSS THE BOARD (as you put it) for a spec that is underperforming on 90% of the current raid content. Ranged has 100% uptime on the boss (if the boss has to be kited around the room for example you can sit and nuke while I have to reposition constantly, not to mention the fact that we get about a quarter of a second to live if the tank dies. Shut your spoiled Warlock mouth before I side with the filthy mages in the Lock vs Mage debate and murder your toon repeatedly.

"Considering Warriors are currently the top end melee DPS, I don't think anyone should be surprised."
Except 'top end melee dps' is somewhere middle of the pack, after all those robe-wearing, arrow-flinging range folks. Nerfing classes that aren't overpowered just leaves bad taste in warriors collective mouth.
njs132 Jun 1st 2011 10:58AM
The biggest problem I see is that as melee, we have a hard enough time competing with ranged for a lot of fights. I was happy that Arms was just starting to reach it's potential, and now we're getting a straight 8% nerf. This hurts a lot.
I'd like to see buffs to other melee so that we don't always have to struggle on these fights where there is so much movement or less time on the boss. If you check out http://stateofdps.com/, the top half of the DPS charts are all ranged DPS, with warriors and frost DKs right above the halfway point. The lower half of the DPS are ALL MELEE. Yet I see no buffs to Unholy, Kitty, Enhancement, Ret pallies and only minor buffs to Rogues.
tl;dr: The gigantic nerfs to warriors just doesn't make sense.
Fluufykins Jun 1st 2011 11:59AM
Say what you want about the warrior changes, but the real issue here is:
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Blizz for finally making it impossible to sell unethically acquired (ie - ninja-needed) BOE's. This is a great change.
nutzj98 Jun 1st 2011 2:57PM
"You ever seen a flat dmg reduction to an entire class? lets look at it like this, not only were warriors recently nerfed but this is just another intense nerf dont you think? "
Yes. And Warriors have been changed much lately and it's part of the Arena vs PVE balance machine. It's part of it.
