The Queue: The middle coast is the best coast
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.
Judging by the comments of The Queue yesterday, there are a lot of you in Wisconsin! Maybe we should all hang out one of these days. Too bad there aren't any major gaming conventions in the Midwest anymore. I demand PAX Middle.
Joe asked:
Do you think we might still get new epic gems in 4.2? Or is it too late in development and we already know everything that is coming?
It does not seem that epic gems are coming in patch 4.2. Maybe we were aiming a tier too early -- in The Burning Crusade, we didn't get epic gems until the third tier of raiding in that expansion. Whichever raid comes after Firelands may be a better target for when we'll see epic gems.
Irin asked:
Assuming I get lucky enough to unearth Zin'rokh can i still send it to an alt after the blade has been enchanted? Since I plan on giving it to my DK if I don't already have something better by that time is it still transferable after runeforging?
You can slap whatever enchantment you want on Zin'rokh and send it around to your alts without issue. If you put a runeforging enchantment on the sword, you can still send it around, but that enchant will only be active and functional for characters with runeforging -- so just your death knight(s).
Victor asked:
My girlfriend just asked if my blacksmith could unlock a lockbox for her and it got me thinking. With the elimination of the keyring in 4.2, what happens to lockboxes?
I know it wont effect rogues at all but Blacksmiths who make the keys to open them have got to be wondering what happens next. Are we simply losing are ability to make the keys? Are rogues going to be the only ones who can open them up? Or are we just going to throw the keys into our regular bags and call it good?
Blizzard is not removing the ability to make keys. They will just go in your main bags instead of on your key ring. That is the only difference.
yous95 asked:
Is Ragnaros in Patch 4.2 really going to have legs? Despite any pictures I've seen, I just can't get it into my mind. It seems to make him more humanoid than elemental.
He is going to have legs, but only during the hard mode version of the encounter. I do think it's a little weird -- the legs, to me, detract from the overall intimidation factor of ol' Raggy. None of us have seen the hard mode in action, though, so maybe it will turn out to be insanely awesome.

Alex do you live in Milwaukee? If so have you ever been to Water Street Brewery? Used to work there. Great brew pub, ok food. But the beer is wonderful.

Water Street is one of my favorite breweries to hit when I go to Milwaukee. I take my kids up to the Kids Museum overlooking the art museum (in picture) at least 2-3 times a year.
I'm also a big fan of the RAM Brewery... but mostly because in February they make a wheat in honor of my cousin who used to work there.

Very cool. In my two years in Milwaukee I don't think I ever made it to the RAM brewery. I enjoyed my time at Water Street though. I was a waiter at night and a brewers apprentice during the morning/day. I still brew my own beer now. I really miss Milwaukee though, it was such a cool little city. Not to big, yet big enough to always have something to do.

Another brewer, eh? My main's name is Zymurg... can you guess what I like to do?
Frase32 May 31st 2011 1:38PM
Haha, nice. I honestly never thought of naming a char that. But I like it. I prefer stouts and browns ales. I can most def get into wheats. I do like me some Dunkel Weisse. What are your brews of choice?
Rapskallion May 31st 2011 1:44PM
I think you and I would drink well together. I'm also a fan of porters, stouts (love some russian imperials), browns, and even smoked ales. Lighter beers are great for hot summer days and all that, but when it's time to have a beer I want one that let's you know it is there.
I currently have a chocolate/chipotle oatmeal stout and a red ale bottle conditioning, with a IPA called "Hop Hammer" in secondary dry hopping.
So much for talking about WoW...

Beer is ALWAYS relevant.

I'm one of those wierd Milwaukeeans who don't like beer.
Door County Wine, on the other hand... I'll take a case!
thatguyb25 May 31st 2011 3:56PM
La Crosse, FTW!
Dan May 31st 2011 3:56PM
I'm about 20 minutes west of Milwaukee. I, too, am one of those weirdo Wisconsinites that doesn't like beer.
Cheese curds, on the other hand....*drool*
Phaelan May 31st 2011 4:16PM
@Dan, I agree, I'm the same way, Cheese Curds all the way (especially deep fried, Culvers FTW)
I grew up in Delavan, till I was "forced" to move to Michigan by my wife
GO PACK!!!!

RAM brewery is awesome and the food is pretty good. They have a chicken sandwich with the buffalo wing sauce that is- indescribably delicious.
Lukeyo May 31st 2011 5:24PM
Fox Cities is where it's at. Ok, not really.
Lohkie May 31st 2011 6:49PM
@phaelan
That's weird! My wife just recently convinced me to move into Delavan from East Troy. I

I have never heard of the Great Lakes region being known as the "middle coast" or "third coast".
Whenever I've heard that, it's referencing the Gulf Coast, specifically Texas. Of course, that's mainly because I live in Texas, but... :P
Sleutel May 31st 2011 7:20PM
All of the microbrews are one of my favorite things about living here. Even the little corner store a block from my apartment carries Lakefront, New Glarus, and Sprecher. Not to mention the fact that some of my friends are now homebrewing--must be something in the air!
Site note: Depending on when the header picture was taken, it's entirely possible that if the picture were high enough resolution, you could zoom in and see me eating lunch at the office where I work. :D
Manus May 31st 2011 7:37PM
I live in Milwaukee, and I love beer. That is all.

@Lohkie thats awesome, must be a bit of a change of pace going from tiny East Troy to Delavan, lot of history. I was actually there on Sunday on my way home. I miss my home town :(
