8 new rare tamable beasts have been added, each of which provides a unique taming challenge. Will you be the first hunter to tame Deth'tilac, the rarest and most powerful of them all? Players will need to progress through the Hyjal Regrowth and Molten Front daily questing areas in order to unlock access to the full gamut of taming challenges.
I hopped on to the PTR this morning and, lo and behold, found the first of these eight new challenges -- Ahnka, the spirit cat.
Ahnka presented a simple yet devious challenge -- the damage Ahnka does to you is based on how much armor you have. High armor rating means you'll be one-shot and dead in a second. Having no armor means you can survive the cat's onslaught. Ahnka is also immune to slows, traps, and anything that would prevent this beast from mauling your face off. In order to tame Ahnka, you'll have to strip down.

- Type: Spirit Beast
- Pet spec: Ferocity
- Found in: The Regrowth
- Gimmick: Does damage based on armor. Take off your armor to tame and survive.

I wonder if you could somehow use Deterrence for that hit. Deterrence gives the attacker a 100% chance to miss, so it's not a block, dodge or parry.... Maybe watch for a warning for Deth Strike, hit Deterrence, Deth Strike misses, then commence taming? Who knows? :D

No you don't understand, sorry. I had to make some though choice over the years, I even managed to keep my very first tame. When Cata came out I was on a WoW break and I didn't keep up with anything WoW related. Getting back in the game I learned that I could keep 25 pet, before grinding the 5 extra lvl I traveled all over Azeroth in order to tame all of the beast I had to let go over the years and those that a 5 stable slot just wouldn't allow me to tame.
Sometime I just sit next to the Stable Master and look at my pet, pick up a random one and go run some Wrath heroic instances in my trier 10 gear or a BC raid in my Tier 6. It's only me and him/her in there and we're having a blast. With some I can pull the entire instance with other I have to use a bit of strategy but it's always entertaining.
I have 24 pet and they all have names. Over time even my guildies have learned to talk about them by their name.
You're right 25 is amazing but it doesn't mean that Blizz has to stop there. I could have a hundred and that probably wouldn't be enough but that's not what I'm (We're) asking. 8 new tamable beast are coming in 4.2 just like more beast were added the patch before and the one before that... Scaling the stable doesn't seem like asking the impossible to me. Why not give hunters 5 new Stable slot?
I don't even RP. I assume that for someone who RP departing with a pet must be quite a sacrifice.

Found another one
Solix its a spider found in the molten front. Doesn't appear to be BM only so this one is open to all hunters!

It has a buff that says its to fast to tame so I would imagine that you need an ice trap or something along those lines for it to become tameable. I'm liking the fact that they all have unique ways to be tamed. Will update if/when I find more!

This is what Blizzard comes up with for a clever, new taming challenge? My god, how stupid. I hope they do something at least a little more clever with the others.

So does anyone know if these guys are phased, or...Are we stuck camping these guys, getting the tag and praying that nobody pulls a jerk mood while jumping through these hoops?
Because if it's Option B, I probably won't bother.

That would be something I could accept if there wasn't a PILE of amazing new artwork in this patch. Did you even look at the other pictures/videos? Have you seen the new mounts? What does it take to keep some people happy?

Oh wait, I wont because all 3 I;ve seen so far have been lazy reskins and the 2 gondria reskins loook nowhere as awesome as gondria.

You did see the fire raven, right? It's not an Alar model, this is brand new. Yes it's the same basic model as the Firehawk mounts but still, new to this patch. :)
