Well, this one is. And so is Ban'thalos. There's still six more, and one is preeeeetty obviously a flame spider.

Nowhere has anything stated that all of them are spirit beasts, or BM-only for that matter.

Anyways I actually agree with the sarcasm in this post. ANOTHER spirit beast? come on? Seriously? They took away the one cool thing of the spirit beasts with the orbital beam of doom and now they are just giving them new models? This just sounds lazy design in my opinion.

Good news for those of you who haven't tamed a spirit beast yet and don't want to camp their spawn points, you can now get one by simply striping nude and talking to this generic white tiger skin they made transparent. I hope the other 6 pets are more inspiring then these two but just seeing that 1/4th of the pets are just rehashes of stuff they already done, I am not holding my breath. Surprised? No rehashing old content with a twist is the theme of cata it seems.

I would like to see something new to fit the theme of the patch, have something that does fire damage or something. Spirit beasts fit in well with Wrath with it's undead theme but shouldn't have been brought back for this expansion and instead something new should have been explored.

They're not even new models.

You saw the Lord of Cinders, right? This is a completely new model to this patch. It's shared by some mounts but there's nothing wrong with that. He is freaking beautiful. If you saw a "fiery bird" and assumed this was another phoenix then you didn't really look at it at all.

The Spider appears to be a brand new model.

The owl, while the same basic owl model as before, the skin on this is VERY unique. It's not the same as Olm, the ghostly jade owl or any of the others.

We've seen 3, maybe 4 of the models and they are in beta. Why in the world are you assuming the worst here? Give it a chance. I was a bit disappointed with another Gondria-type kitty but it's just one of 8. I'm not going to flip out over this. SHEESH! XD
