The engineering gun is item level 365, not 359. So it may last a little more than you said.

The Engineering gun is going to be a complete waste of time for most. It takes so long to unlock the vendor that sells the schematic that unless the arena seasons starts late, the PVP Gun/Bows (which will have higher DPS because of the higher ilevel and crit, regardless of the loss of secondary stat) may be actually be obtainable as soon as, if not earlier, than the Eng gun.
