Breakfast Topic: Are you an Azerothian prankster?
This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the AOL guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider's pages.
Back in the good ol' days, our guild was much smaller and tight-knit. We had enough for a solid 25-man raid, with a handful others who just liked to call us "home." Some guildies knew each other in real life or were roommates who liked to have fun and play pranks on each other. While I glad to not be a part of it, I did enjoy hearing the creativity they came up with, especially when it involved something in game.
The most memorable prank was back in the golden days of yore, back when mounts were items in your bag, guns and bows took ammunition, and gold wasn't fished in fountains. Someone logged onto a low-level alt and commented the character wasn't where he had left him. He shortly discovered that he had no gear, no gold for a flight path, no hearthstone, no mount, was nowhere near a bank, and had to run through high-level mobs to get anywhere remotely close to bank access. Watching him discover all these atrocities one at a time made for a very entertaining evening.
With authenticators bringing heightened account security and Blizzard making items such as mounts "learned," pranks such as this are hard to recreate. This just means pranksters have to be more creative.
Do you and your friends pull fast ones on each other? What epic in-game tales and pranks were you in on or have you heard about?

I remember a friend who logged into another friend's account, banked her gear, destroyed her Hearthstone, and logged her out in the middle of Thrall's throne room...place. The character in question was Alliance.
I also remember another time when me (on my lock) and two of my friends summoned another friend's alt to one of the islands in the sky in Nagrand before she bought epic flying and then flew away ourselves.

I should say...
"before she bought flying".

Got the first Mechano hog in my guild, a guildie asked for a ride. He had never been to the dalaran sewers for some reason, so he saw no problem as i zipped through that tunnel :)
As soon as he falls, laughter ensues on vent, he gets really pissed of and demands that i run to his body to make him a portal. So I fly down, open a portal form him and laugh and laugh... the portal was for shattrath :D

We had a guildmate who legitimately asked how he could quit a guild on his alt to move to our guild. What followed was 2 people type /gquit without any spaces. Needless to say he found that quite funny so the next day when a different people where on he asked again and a few more people accidentally quite the guild. He appearntly did this for quite awhile until everyone had caught on. It was funny though.

I pulled a variant on this one. Just after Cataclysm dropped I went on guild chat and announced "Hey, cool - /gquit now has a confirmation dialog!" ... within minutes about 20 people had quit the guild. I had however had the sense of responsibility to discuss my prank with an officer up front and they all got invited back right after to much lol'ing.

What the F* is up with her teeth?
Andostre Jun 3rd 2011 8:25AM
They're in her mouth. She probably uses them to chew things.
MusedMoose Jun 3rd 2011 8:29AM
Also: motion blur.
Noyou Jun 3rd 2011 10:10AM
The better to eat you with? #duh.
Lowlight Jun 3rd 2011 10:15AM
Probably a yankee. They tend to have awful teeth.
Lowlight Jun 3rd 2011 10:16AM
Also, is this a scene from the movie KIds? The one where the girls are talking about the se xing?
DonNochay Jun 3rd 2011 10:42AM
Um, yeah, I do think it might be from Kids.
However, Yankees have bad teeth? Do you smoke crack, dude? Since when is it a commonly held belief that Americans have the worst teeth in the world?
You're clearly British and butt-hurt about British stereotypes. Congratulations.

Not mine, but I'll relate it anyway.
My brother was a very vocal, active officer of a large guild on my server (so his guildmates should have known who he was). He would write "has earned the achievement [Level 80!]" in guild chat so it would come out as [Brother]: has earned the achievement [Level 80!]" in guild chat, linking SOMEONE ELSE'S achievement, and laugh as the "Grats!" rolled by on the screen.
The other thing he did? He constantly told his raiders to "read the boss strats!" before raids, so to test his raiders during a Naxx raid after Patchwork, he said on vent "Everyone make sure to run through the slimes to get your buff for the next boss!" and laugh hysterically as people died. ._.
WaterRouge Jun 3rd 2011 8:40AM
Ahhh the classic "Stand in _____ get a buff!" routine. I've used that a couple times myself. One of my two personal favorites were both in ToC.
The first was telling some newbie raiders in a whisper that having the snobold on your back during the first fight increased your DPS drastically. In vent the four of them (was 25man) argued so hard over who should get the snobolds while everyone else, who had cleared ToC multiple times, simply sat back wondering. One of them was an unholy death knight and he literally sat there spamming taunt on one snobold trying to get it to go to him.
The second was convincing a few people who KNEW the fight to play Chicken with me. You know, where you see who stays the longest before backing out. I always won because..well..mages can blink. Thankfully I was the raid leader that time so the following wipe was excused. Totally worth it.

Throne of the Four Winds. Wondered what would happen if a mage casts slow fall on themself as they flew from one platform to another. Longest slow fall I have ever seen. Next time in there, group had a new recruit who was also a mage. Talked him into casting slow fall on himself as he went to the next platform. Had to take he headset off between all the laughing and cursing on vent, LOL.
(A word of caution, don't piss the mages off while in there or you may be taking a flight.)
dynamitecandyman Jun 3rd 2011 8:28AM
Last night one of our mages mass summoned the raid to a place above BWD where if you took a step you would fall to your death >.< so i swapped my spec to elemental and thunderfucked her off the Tot4W entrance in a duel later in the night. she forgot to slowfall and died :DDD
