You actually DO need to get a couple friends for this, considering how hard (impossible?) it is to solo the Chess event. Beyond that, yes, Karazhan is soloable.

You can solo the chess event, it takes quite a bit of luck and perseverance but it can be done

Metalupis is right...Chess absolutely can be soloed. Just requires a lot of hopping in and out of the right pieces and a little luck.

Granted, you won't 1 shot it unless you're REALLY lucky and the Orc "King" stands in the fire (yes, it can happen, lol), but it is possible. It usually takes me about 7-26 attempts, depending on when Medivh cheats and if the Horde Team focuses on your Conjurer in the beginning.

Once, I solo'd the chess event while I was tabbed out of the game,

To this day I have no idea how that happened and have never solo'd it
in under 3 attempts since. Even by afking, which one would assume was
key to my victory that time.
