If I remember right though, one thought brought up recently by Activison-Blizzard was to release expansions for WoW much quicker than they have in the past. For all we know we might end up having to pay every 8 months-1yr for the next "expansion".

Considering that's their response to a slight decline in the subscription numbers... I doubt it'll be too effective in fixing it...
