overall it seems like blizzard has really under-delivered in terms of actual, compelling, on going gameplay... while there are certainly high points in cata -- including of course all the new starting zones, the revamp vanilla zones, etc -- the plateau of content seems to stretch endlessly to the horizon... only one new raid in 4.2... only 2 new 5mans in 4.1... not new five mans in 4.2... hardmodes that don't really introduce anything new except an increase in numbers across the board (ok, sinestra is there)... all that really seems to be happening is an elimination of the hurdles to get gear by nerfing content or making items more afforadable by introducing more and easier methods to getting currencies.even players that don't play more than 5 - 10 hours per week have got to be a little tired of the same dungeons and raids by this point. i can't imagine firelands is going to feel 'fresh' for more than a month or so after release... so what's left for those people in semi-functional guilds that usually run through a raid in 4 - 6 weeks... will they continue to plod through the troll instances for 45 minutes a run? will they bother to run Halls of Origination yet again? finally level archaeology? what's left to do?i still love playing the game; but i've already leveled 5 alts to 350 gear levels; solo'd pretty much everything in the game that's soloable (except maybe c'thun and that dang whale shark) and maxed all professions across my toons... i've explored the map, killed the rares/elites, tamed every pet i'd ever want etc... there are still a couple achievements in ulduar and icc, but finding a 25man group for heroic sindragosa doesn't happen by snapping your fingers...anyway, it feels to me like blizzard needs to prioritize development of either 'refreshed' content, or introduce alot more options for casual raiders and dungeon runners... we need a couple 'karazhans' basically... some side progression bosses, or world events or anything really. it's hard to believe that all blizzard can produce between 4.1 and 4.2 is a single raid environment (even with a zone-based quest chain)...
