There is one thing that Blizzard should release for free - perspective. It's definitely worth paying for, but those who need it wouldn't buy it.
Also, I love the Winged Guardian and its Rygar vibe.

Great Podcast. i can always count on you to summarize whats new. As a player with my Hunter as a main I do agree that the pets are very similar to existing animal types, but ehh, knowing they are a challenge I will probably go after at least one of them. I'm a fan of all new pet possibilities, especially the rare ones. You have piqued my curiosity! I have a new flying lion mount, and I'm glad that Blizz hasn't tried to oversell every little extra; that would be a huge turnoff.

All the WoW insider Mat(t)'s are epic, your commitment and enthusiasm to the podcasts(even nitpixel) is really awesome Mat! Big fan of you guys!

I look at it this way; they've been releasing ultra-cool loot for the card game for years, and while you can now buy some of that with gold in-game (due to it being BOE), most of that loot is still pretty unattainable if you don't want to spend real-life cash on in-game items; all the blizzard store does is take the RNG out of getting those items. I don't understand why TCG stuff is OK but pet store isn't- is it because Blizzard is making huge amounts of money directly from the pet store? I don't get it. Is it because you get cards with the loot? That I don't get either, considering the huge ebay market for the cards.
Most of all I'm OK with the downloadable items and premium content costs (well, not so much for the cross-realm grouping feature thing but that's because I selfishly want it built into the game itself) for purely selfish reasons. I love cute little pets, and while I can't really afford to pay several hundred dollars for a hippogryff hatchling from a TCG card, I CAN afford topay $10 for a Cenarion Hatchling from the Blizzard Store.

I agree.

This is the first im hearing of Blizzard donating to CHOC, and it made me immensely happy. When i was 5 years old i was hospitalized and was taken to CHOC, and it can be easily said i owe them my life. The staff are wonderful and some of the best in their field, and they definitely deserve the donations.

Two of my California friends were hospitalized there when they were younger and they lead normal lives now because of it. They are truly miracle-workers.

I will continue to /laugh at anyone who uses sparklepony or derplion.
The winged guardian may be harmless, but defending every single money snatching decision Blizzard makes is not.
Pazzy Jun 4th 2011 10:58PM
Regarding the winged guardian, I think it's interesting that people get mad about available options they don't want. It's an option! It isn't necessary for making you a better player. It's just for fun! Chill, take your B-12, and breathe!
Matt, I enjoyed the way you stated in your podcast that there are 300+ mounts in the game, and exactly two of them are purchasable. The long pause turned your statement into a stun. LOL

total Fanboy & the fanboys love it:(

I'm fine with DLC. like Bronwyn said above I find it strange that people rage so hard against DLC and yet they don't rage against TCG loot? It's basically the same thing. The TCG loot is actually a lot worse when u think about it. That said, I will never buy DLC. I already spend $15 a month on WoW...and I think that's enough.
Also, I really enjoy the weekly updates. I appreciate that Mat takes the time out of his day to do them. I look forward to it every week!
