The Queue: The land of the ice and snow

I want the version of Immigrant Song that they used in the new Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer.
Velutina asked:
I haven't seen anything about new 5 man content in 4.2. Will there be any?
Nope. We were originally supposed to get an Abyssal Maw 5-man with the Firelands patch, but given the nebulous state of the Abyssal Maw raid, we may not even get that one at all. It's definitely not coming in 4.2, in any event. Look forward to something in 4.3.
Thiron asked:
Was there any talk about removal of bear mount from ZA speed run rewards in future, like it happened with raid?
No, and I don't anticipate Blizzard will remove it in this expansion, if it ever removes it at all. The only progression or reward mounts Blizzard flat-out made unavailable in recent history (if memory serves) were the Naxxramas drakes, and the devs have stated that they feel like it maybe wasn't the best idea to remove them. Note that you can still get Ulduar drakes, Invincible, Mimiron's Head, etc., even though that content has been trivialized.
Vash-Trigun asked:
Hey I have a quick question. how does one trade heirlooms to alts on the other faction side on the same server? Is it the same as regularly mailing them?
Yep.
Suh8lim3 asked:
What're the chances that Pandarens will ever become a playable race? I remember hearing a couple years ago that it was because of copyright issues with China, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Pandarens are my favorite lore race and I think a drunken brawler style combat would be awesome.
I think you may be confusing race with class here, but I sincerely hope that pandaren are never playable. They're a joke race. That's not an opinion; it's a fact. The fact that aside from a few Easter eggs, there's almost zero reference to the race in WoW at all shows how uncomfortable Blizzard is with integrating pandaren into the game world, and rightfully so.
Besides, if you sincerely want any more animal-person races in the game, let me provide a sobering counterpoint:
Worgen females.

They say puns are the lowest form of humour. I say such people are nothing but elitist jerks.

I see what you did there.
Hal Jun 5th 2011 12:54PM
Yeah. I'd bet Pandaren models would be so bad we could hardly bear it.
It just seems like models are either great of awful. It's a real black and white situation.
So yeah, when we ask for new races, thinking about how Worgen turned out should really give us pause.
Tirrimas Jun 5th 2011 1:11PM
@Hal:
I dunno, I thought the worgen females were grrrreat.
MusedMoose Jun 5th 2011 1:48PM
What do people say is wrong with the females? My memory's a little fuzzy.
Zionanthani Jun 5th 2011 1:59PM
@Hal
Even if they made Pandaren playable, which faction would they belong to? No matter who they sided with, you know the other faction would whine and moan without end.
Iano Jun 5th 2011 2:52PM
I want to take this moment to point out the Pandaren equivalents are ALREADY in game.
Furbolgs are bear-people.
Pandas aren't ACTUALLY bears, but they certainly look the part, and generations of people naming the things Panda-bears speaks for itself.
Take a furbolg, give it white and black fur, and what you have is a pandaren. Everytime I hear how big a joke the Pandaren are, I slap my forehead and think of the furbolgs, and how Pandaren amount to a recolor of a current NPC race.
Marshall Jun 5th 2011 3:14PM
Pandaren: No, please no.
Drunken Master/Monk/thingy: Yes. Many times yes. I want to fuel my drunken monk with Darkmoon Special Reserve and watch them smash completely while completely smashed.

@Noyou
I generally only read page 1-2 of comments on articles that interest me so maybe this is why I don't know, but who is Stella?

1) Pandaren originated as a joke, yes. But claiming they are *still* a joke race is opinion, not fact. Chen Stormstout is official lore, not an "easter egg". Blizzard's tip-toeing likely has much more to do with #2 below.
2) Blizzard *has* stated that there are potential issues with China if they include it in WoW. They already have to provide alternate models for Forsaken. Providing alternate models for Pandaren would essentially require changing their whole identity.
3) Model popularity is incredibly divisive. Pointing at Worgen Females doesn't really prove your point...even if Blizzard managed to make a model *you* liked, I can guarantee most people would complain about it. I'm not hypothesizing here - this *actually happened* during Cataclysm Beta, when Worgen Females went through numerous changes. Few people agreed on one look. This does mean that it's unlikely there will be a majority approval of any Pandaren models, but that isn't exactly an argument against trying. Sobering counterpoint: Tauren.
4) "No more animal races!" Okay, got any suggestions? How many can you come up with before having to rely on animal races? Furbolgs? Murlocs? Dragonkin? Tuskarr? Tol'vir? Arakkoa? All beastly animal races.

In regard to China's "Panda Issues", the last I read is that while it isn't *currently* illegal to depict Pandas/Panda-inspired-things being hurt/killed/etc, it is a measure that has been repeatedly put up to vote, and it isn't like the political crazies of China are the only ones in support of it. Blizzard has to take it into consideration.
trefpoid Jun 5th 2011 10:56PM
The whole Panda thing is a myth, there's a chinese mmo with a humanoid Panda race and yes, they get killed and the government doesn't care at all. So there's no good reason why Pandaren shouldn't be a race. I love 'em and can only dream of setting foot in Pandaria someday :D
Darky Jun 6th 2011 1:06AM
Ethereals, that is all.
