Patch 4.2 PTR updates for June 6

A new staff, Sho'ravon, Greatstaff of Annihilation, has been found as a drop from Ragnaros. Looks like Sho'ravon is every other caster's consolation prize for not getting Dragonwrath.
Hit the jump for all the changes.

So, don't these changes usually have an "... up/down from _____" at the end of each one?
CDave Jun 6th 2011 8:17PM
"Reth! Reth! Reth!"
What's that in reference to?
Therinor Jun 6th 2011 8:25PM
"Reth! Reth" means "Burn! Burn", remember the quest in Nagrand with the little living flames you used to set those huts on fire?
xth Jun 6th 2011 8:25PM
It's Kalimag (I think that's how it's spelled), the language of elementals. In one quest in Nagrand, you're given a fire elemental to burn down a corrupted lost one village. When you set it free in each of the buildings, it says "Reth! Reth! Reth!" as it grows and sets fire to the place.
epicboyz Jun 6th 2011 8:26PM
its elemental speak for "burn, burn, burn"
Rangen Jun 6th 2011 8:27PM
Indeed it is the elemental language of Kalimag, and "Reth" is Kalimag for "Burn." So literally, the staff is just saying "Burn! Burn! Burn!"

That sounds like the jawas from a really old Star Wars Screensaver I had on my 386. My games were six floppy disks back then. :)
Ata Jun 6th 2011 9:12PM
I always wondered if it was maybe saying 'Fire! Fire! Fire!' ala Bevis and Butthead because it just seemed so -happy- while burning things.
Talarian Jun 7th 2011 12:11AM
@Iano - Oh my, I had that screen saver too and hadn't thought about it in years. I remember the Jawas would run across your screen, dismantle your windows, and run away with your icons. Ha. I'd like to have the screensaver back, actually.

That's Awesome Talarian! It's an oldie but a goodie :)

^Copied from Blizzard patch notes, thought these should be posted, as they are comparative, thus easier to read (IMO) :)
More accurate numbers for the change, most won't care about less than an extra 1% increase but some will, so, rounded to 2 d.p:
The Arcane Blast change is a 5.30% damage decrease,
The Hemorrage change is a 40.91% increase.
Thrash direct damage: base damage increased by 207.37%, AP scaling decreased by 48.85%
Thrash periodic damage: base damage increased by 207.41%, AP scaling decreased by 48.77%

EDIT: Forgot to leave the note that the Black Arrow, from what I can see, is not listed in the Official Patch Notes, thus not in my post :)

Thank you for sharing these much more enlightening notes. :D They were very helpful.

I begin to grow peturbed at the lack of a Perdition's blade 2.0
Rhythmic Jun 6th 2011 9:01PM
I am okay with this.

Go go rogue pvp buffs. It needs it.
MusedMoose Jun 6th 2011 9:27PM
A staff called the "Greatstaff of Annihilation" with words in its flavor text that translate to "Burn! Burn! Burn!"?
...hell, my fire mage wants this *more* than Dragonwrath. ^_^
George Jun 6th 2011 9:35PM
wow, I'm looking at this and I'm thinking to myself, I don't give a flying crap about this game anymore... the game has gotten so boring it's sad :(
jonham013 Jun 6th 2011 10:39PM
