The Queue: Panda ... nope, not going to do it

Every time the pandaren get mentioned in The Queue, we end up with a week straight of pandaren headers, themes and puns. I'm going to break that trend and completely avoid the topic of the pandaman in this edition of The Queue and hopefully end the horrible cycle of pain.
riley asked:
Do you think Warcraft ever seen an ending to its story or will Blizzard keep adding content and lore until they subscriber numbers drop below profitability? Will we ever get to fight Sargeras or will the servers just shut down in the middle of the 6th expansion?
Blizzard won't end World of Warcraft until it becomes financially irresponsible to keep the game running. It certainly isn't going to write a definite ending in. Blizzard will keep churning content out as long as the game sustains itself. If we end up fighting Sargeras in WoW's lifetime, it will most likely just be revealed that something even worse is around the corner.
Scooba asked:
What's up with poison gas storage sitting in the back of the ruins above undercity? Is it supposed to imply sylvannas is up to something?
Imply? We are way beyond implications, brother. Sylvanas is riding the crazy train as fast as it'll go. Just look around the Eastern Kingdoms in Cataclysm. Sylvanas is actively wielding plagues in battle, obliterating Gilneas, Hillsbrad, et cetera, and raising the dead as her servants. She's dag nasty evil. Remember the plague that Putress used at the Wrathgate? It only existed because Sylvanas told him to create it. Now that Putress and Varimathras are out of the way, she's happily using it wherever and whenever she wants, all according to plan.
I would not be surprised for one single moment if we learn that Sylvanas is current holder of the shards of Frostmourne.
Goblinsgoboom asked:
On the topic of new playable races: what do you think would be the next races for Horde and Alliance? I know we just got new races, I'm just wondering. Arroka would be nice for Horde. I love those little bird men. :)
Frankly, I think there are plenty of races -- Blizzard isn't even utilizing the potential of the ones it has. There needs to be some focus on the less-loved races of the Horde and the Alliance before Blizzard thinks about adding more. Because of that, I haven't put a lot of thought into which races it could add.
That being said, I suspect the arrakoa would more likely be an Alliance race! If you pay attention in The Burning Crusade, many of the arrakoa who are friendly to players are arrakoa that turned to the Light and thus abandoned the factions of their race who worship less pleasant deities. The overall arc of the draenei is to build an army of the Light, so if there were a friendly faction of arrakoa, they would probably be Light-worshipping birdies who sign on with the Alliance. The Horde can have ... I don't know, ogres, I guess. Definitely not ethereals; those guys are way too cool as a neutral faction.

I agree with the article writer that there needs to be more focus on the current established races before moving on to new things. Otherwise the story gets too muddled.
I play both factions, and I challenge Blizzard to do new things with the tauren and worgen especially.
I understand the complaint about the gnomes' failure to completely re-take Gnomeregan, but I do believe that will be addressed down the line, perhaps in an exciting patch that will contain a new Gnomeregan raid one day.
Draenei hasn't had a lot to cheer about, but I also think Draenei, as well as Blood Elves, will eventually be addressed in a future expansion, as well as most of the Burning Crusade areas. Plus, considering that Sargeras is the "big baddie" of the WoW universe, I'm sure Draenei will be called to arms more often, eventually.
I'm agreeing now that the Ethereals are simply better off as a neutral race, because both factions want them too much.
I wouldn't mind seeing arakkoa as an Alliance race, but I don't think ogres would work veyr well as a playable race. I already think tauren are big enough to seem almost slow and clumsy. LIkewise, naga wouldn't work either due to their too-unique forms making it too difficult for their wardrobe to work. I'd say if there is one race that I think would be playable for the horde, it would be the vrykul.
But honestly I do think we have enough races for now, and I think what wow needs right now are a couple more new classes instead to inject new life.

There are a few reasons why they won't allow playing a Human in the Horde or a Tauren in the Alliance. First, while people like that may exist in lore, they are very much the exception, not the rule. We do not play the exceptions to the rule. It's why Forsaken Paladins or Gnome Hunters aren't playable. They may exist, but not in high enough numbers.
Second, it turns PvP into a muddled mess. Right now you can pretty easily tell which faction a player is in from a distance, long before you can see their name plate. Change that, and you effectively won't be able to tell whether someone is on your side until they start shooting at you.

Hey Queue!
When 4.2 goes Live, how will the VP -> JP conversion work? Will we be able to go over the 4k Justice cap?
(Don't worry, I'm not crazy.)
NO! 4k Justice points is the ultimate max. There is no soft cap. If you have 4k Justice points when 4.2 hits, any Valor points you have are just plain LOST.
Bashiok has finally let us know the answer here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2592858091?page=1#11

I would hope that Blizzard would spruce up the old races before adding new ones, please & thank you. I'd also like to see a bit more customizations on the characters creation rather then just a hand full of faces & some hairdos. I know they say that the want to keep the silhouette easily reconcilable, but I'm not that worried about being confused over what race I'm looking at. I can't tell half the time anyway when some one has a ton of crazy armor on!
As far as speculation on what new playable races could be, the Arroka, interesting, but I could see problems with armor sets & those bird heads.
I know they'd never do it, but I wish you could play High Elves, yes I know they look like Blood Elves with different colored eyes, but there's a bit more to them then just that. I respect them for just saying no to fel energy & sticking with the Alliance.
Another, "will never happen" would be a total defection from one side to another. I guess that's why I got a kick out of the Grimtotem tribe defecting & siding with the Alliance, though it was a pretty crappy thing for Magatha Grimtotem to do to Cairne Bloodhoof.

I give wow 2 more years of expas worth playing, one hero class (probably demon hunter) and then blizz will go for new MMO´S like starcraft or diablo...
unless they bring new races up from nothing... i dont spect to see "mob" races as playable ones just as nagas or quillboars

OK THE HORDE AND THE OGRES DON'T LIKE EACH OTHER. IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR A LONG TIME. they're almost rival status in some respects. look back at your WC campaigns, including the Rexar campaign. horde stomps ogres.
also who are you to say "too cool" - - - you sound like an alliance player. "ogres i guess"
YOUR TRUE COLORS, SIR. THEY SHOW.
FOR THE HORRRDDEEEEEEE

The playable race is not coming in next expantion.
Next expantion will be a Class , maybey (Necromancer)
Expantion after that will be a new playable race again.
What i have heared Metzen said in a video klipp from Lich King Collectors Edition DVD , he said like this.
--------------------
There is many good races with good background story that would fit good into the World of Warcraft lore.
For example Goblins,Ogres,Nagas that i want in the game sometime in the future.
--------------------
Goblin is now out , so next i guess is Ogre for the Horde.
Ogres are at Brewfest and many other places.
So it smell Ogres next time.
Even Naga i can see as an Horde race
As an Alliance race , i can only guess one : Tuskar
We have already transform us to them in Dalaran , like Ogres aswell.
Also Metzen said in the same DVD about the Vikings in Northrend.
I like them very much. I have always been a big viking fan.
So maybey the Vikings in Northrend be the Horde race and Tuskar for Alliance.
We will see.

What are the chances that next expansion will be a revamp of outlands with maybe a demon hunter class and we kill kiljaeden, and the expansion after that where we go back to northrend to wake up bolvar to help us fight sargeras?

Alex, last week you made a comment saying you wished there was a midwest game expo of sorts...
**Judging by the comments of The Queue yesterday, there are a lot of you in Wisconsin! Maybe we should all hang out one of these days. Too bad there aren't any major gaming conventions in the Midwest anymore. I demand PAX Middle.**

All game systems, Classic Arcades, Live bands and not horribly far from Wisconsin, in Ottumwa, Ia.
Just saying :)

@loop_not_defined
"Murdertime, BC was the story of the Burning Legion. Which was largely controlled by the Eredar. Which is what the Draenei are."
"The zones, themselves, were almost devoid of friendly Blood Elves."
So do the hostile ones count, or not? You seem to indicate that the hostile eredar makes the draenei central, but the hostile blood elves should be ignored.
