Breakfast Topic: What memorial would you leave behind in WoW?

"What, like an item?"
"Maybe, but not necessarily." I cursed under my breath as Halazzi dropped another lightning totem. "Like the Jar of Ashes. Just some cool thing in the world that would let people who played the game after you know you were there."
"I've always wanted them to put in a hair shirt for me."
"Funny." She made a face at me and I went back to tanking. But now that I've had time to think about it, it's a fair question. I've always loved the crypt in the Badlands -- probably due to my being a huge Robert E. Howard fan, but still, having a set of tier 2 armor on a stand in there with my character's name on it would be pretty much the best thing I could imagine. Failing that, stick my name on a revamped Drake Talon Cleaver.
So how about you? What would you do if you could ask the devs to immortalize you in game?

A random ore node that can appear only once and is a random world spawn, it could drop anything, but preferably just copper ore because it would be funny.
When the ore is mined a Tauren Death Knight appears as a ghost and sings the following:
"Well, I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain.
Fightin' an' trouble are my middle name.
I was raised in the barrens by an old mama lion,
Can't no highborn woman make me walk the line.
You load sixteen tons an' what do you get?
Another day older deeper and debt.
Lord Darion Don't yah call me 'cause I can't go,
I owe my soul to the Thorium store.
Well, if you see me comin', better step aside.
A lotta men didn't; a lotta men died.
One fist of fel iron, the other of titansteel.
If the right one don't get you, then the left one will."
As a tribute to all the hours that player has, and will, spend farming materials, killing mobs, collecting quest items.
Or maybe a set of fist weapons, one called Sixteen, the other Tons, and hopefully by then Death Knights will be able to finally use fist weapons.

just thought of another one, talking to my gf... her main is a dorf pally lady, a very adorable one who has a lot of character, and we have lots of fun memories about playing WOW together, adventures that char and my main char had in Azeroth.
One memory is how we boosted her through Kara, and she looted all the Netherweave and turned it into bandages, hiding while we fought the mobs. In case we wiped, she ran in and offered free bandages =)
Also, around then, I boosted her through an instance, and she looted this firefighter-style helmet off of some mob. She put it on, which I didnt see, I turn around and there she stood with this ridiculous looking helmet on, made me laugh big time.
Since she logs out her char in Dal, at the Legerdemain every day, she said her memorial would be a pile of Netherweave cloth , with said helmet on top, on "her" chair

I would like to be a trinket named Insanity. The 'on use' would be that a tree of life would pop out and heal you if you were below 20% health, otherwise, she would do other strange, random things.....dance, make suggestive comments, give you bubble gum, tell jokes, give hugs, or /yell random things like "Madness will Consume You".

An NPC on the Isle of Quel'danas with my priest's model and name, sitting and looking out to sea. Wearing T6, but with the hood pushed down so you can see her hair. Nothing fancy.
Sorrel Jun 7th 2011 9:37AM
Something like this is what I was thinking. My priest, sitting on a bench near one of Stormwind's lake, looking over the lake. On the bench would be enough space for a player to sit besides her.

A dwarf holding a gun *nobody anyone knows* pinned to a wall by a dozen arrows, with the words 'Sticks Was Here' spelled out in arrows above him. It could be placed in my favorite zone, Stranglethorn vale, perhaps on the banks of Lake Nazferiti. That's the high-end though. What I'd like that'd be smaller would probably be a 'Sticks Perfect Pet-Treat' a cooking item requiring a dragon-flank or related meat, plus a highland pomegranate and flour, that causes hunter pets to double in size and have minty-clean breath.

Honestly, my memorial would be the family of my character. I would want to be left behind as a peice of lore for others to follow. A quest chain given by the family of my character to discover his exploits.
Sadly these exploits would be hilarious or just my misfortures. Recently I did a parachute assult onto an Ogrimmar Zeppelin, which did not end well for me.
Gimmlette Jun 7th 2011 10:40AM
Awesome. You've given me an idea for a guild event...
Ati Jun 7th 2011 9:44AM
Somewhat predictable, but I'd like a bow...stuck to the ceiling of some tunnel. It has to look exactly like the best bow available (or maybe Thori'dal) and it would be clickable...only to have a box pop up saying that you can't get at the bow because it won't 'drop'.
That would pretty much immortalize my luck with weapon drops, and my hunter main.

My DK in the latest cloth Tier, standing next to the mage trainers in Org and yelling "I am not a mage trainer, I am just here for your tears noob" when someone clicks on him.
This started as a joke in my raid team when I got a cloth item for "RP" since no one else could use it, so over 6 months in Wrath I put together a full heroic cloth set and stood around Dal while in the guild. Oh the delicous tears, I can still taste them.

I want to be the librarian version of Old Emma wandering around the Library in Stormwind Keep grousing about how no one puts books back on their proper shelves and shushing Harrison Jones. I could be a Children's Week quest NPC and crack the little buggers on the knuckles with a ruler.
INDEPENDENT2281 Jun 7th 2011 9:50AM
A troll rogue Npc who stealths around STV ganking lowbie Ally characters, but rewards them with an achievement. Mostly found in Nesingwary's base camp.
I can also remember the day that the honor system was implemented and the hours I spent in Tarren Mill gathering fellow players to meet up and hunt down alliance from South Shore
Mygirlsguns Jun 7th 2011 9:53AM
I think it would be cool if you could bring your character to a instance that you could opt to make him stone for anyone on your fraction to as a far well to him.
Morgatho Jun 7th 2011 9:59AM
Id have a room like in SM arm at the end in the mountains in south east Orgrimmar with statue showing my hunter, pally tank, holy priest, feral druid and ele shaman in a battle ready formation and when you read the little plaques on the statues there ghost would aper to offer to show you a cut seen of there most epic moment in wow.

Since my favorite dungeons in the game tend to be those in blackrock mountain, I'd like the entire outside of Blackrock to be sculpted into my Warlock's likeness. Think Mount Rushmore but with a full body rather than just my face. As the mountain get's wider at the bottom, I'd like my various pets carved into the rock at my feet.
Yeah... That'll do nicely.
Amaxe Jun 7th 2011 10:08AM
For my dwarf, a monument in Old Ironforge with a carving of a dwarf lying in state, with containers at the head and feet,
Clicking on the inscription, one will read:
And when I die don't bury me at all,
Just pickle my bones in alcohol;
Put a bottle o' booze at my head and feet
And then I know that I will keep.
It would be in character for the dwarf, and also reflect that I can't let anything be too serious.
thpthpthp1 Jun 7th 2011 10:11AM
A Toy Train Set with no cooldown and my name on it!
Krz Jun 7th 2011 10:17AM
A grave somewhere obscure in Tirisfal Glades. That would be fitting given I play as Forsaken and would make me feel like my character had finally found peace.
Nipah Jun 7th 2011 10:23AM
While I'd love to have a character in game, wandering around the Troll section of Orgrimmar, making idle chatter with the Shaman trainer, I think this would be more appropriate:
Nipah's Sentry Totem
on use: Summons a Sentry Totem.
When Summoned, allows the user to see through the totem.
Right click the buff to switch back and forth. Lasts 1 minute.
Cooldown: 1 minute.
Either that, or some type of item that would transform the user into a Ghost Wolf, and make them dance for a certain amount of time.
Sapphiria Jun 7th 2011 10:25AM
A part of my gameplay and my personality entwined into one...
I would love for Sapph to be a quest giver in Mara located by the turtles (a favorite spot). You would have to finish my quest in order to unlock the next passage. The quest would have to deal with some fishing, in which would help you to create a buff or spell to cleanse nature. I would reward you with a pet, a baby kodo, identical the one you can visit at the Darkmoon faire. (though a baby dryad would be so cool!)
I love to fish, complete quest, solve puzzles (which I wish we did more of ingame) and best of all collect pets. I enjoy cleansing quest especially involving nature. In RL I wish my own disease and sickness can be cured. WoW and my char have brought me joy and helped me through A lot....
