I want a house. Instead of vendoring/destroying old bound gear I'd mount some on the walls and keep the rest in display cabinets. Give me trophies to hang for particularly tough kills like the Lich King which can no longer be earned once the content is no longer relevant. If someone goes to where the house is in-game and clicks on it they should be able to see a list of what is inside at a minimum.
