PVP Season 9 ending soon

Blizzard stresses that if you believe you are potentially going to get the Season 9 PVP rewards for being in the highest percentile of winners and think you might be eligible for the arena titles or Vicious Gladiator's Twilight Drake, you should refrain from transferring your character to a new server while the reward tabulation is going on. If you're a big PVPer, stay on your server until the winners have been announced.
PVP Season 10 will begin approximately one week after Season 9 ends. All honor over the 4,000-point cap will be turned into gold at 35 silver per honor point.
Blizzard's full post after the break.
Arena and Rated Battleground Season 9 is scheduled to end as early as June 21. At that point we will determine who is eligible for the end-of-season rewards, a process that should take approximately one week. It's very important for players who feel that they may be eligible for Arena titles and/or the Vicious Gladiator's Twilight Drake to refrain from transferring their characters to another realm or faction until after Season 9 ends. During the break between seasons, all Rated Battleground and Arena matches will be unavailable.
At the end of the season, Conquest Points will be converted to Honor Points, possibly exceeding the 4,000 point Honor cap. All Season 9 items will cost Honor Points (equivalent to their previous Conquest Point cost) when the season ends, with the exception of any items with rating requirements attached. These items will no longer be available for purchase.
The next Arena and Rated Battleground season will begin for level-85 players approximately one week after the end of Season 9 and will coincide with the awarding of Season 9 titles and mounts. At that time, any Honor accrued above the 4,000-point cap will be converted into gold at a rate of 35 silver per point. In addition, Season 10 rewards will be made available for purchase with Conquest Points awarded during the new season. All Team and Personal Ratings will be wiped when Season 10 begins. Matchmaking Ratings, however, will carry over into Season 10.

So that basically means the patch IS coming the 28th. Seeing as Season 10 would be the same day as 4.2.
dahboyo Jun 7th 2011 8:21PM

I'm wondering then (because I can't remember how it worked in Wrath, with VoA) will a new wing/boss of BH become available to take on as well soon? I haven't heard anything about one, but I thought with a new tier of PvP gear coming, we'd have a one more method of obtaining gear.
I mean this for those of us who don't really PvP that hardcore anyway. I know the easy answer is "if you don't PvP, why do you need the gear for it?" But sometimes I'd like to casually queue up for a random BG and not die within seconds of spawning because of my lack of gear (the PvP gearing gearing curve is less forgiving than the PvE, imo).
So forgive me for my ignorance, if it has been stated before, but has there been any news of a new BH boss at all then?

While I don't know if the bosses name has been announced, I believe they did say a new wing has been added

His name is Occu'thar.
Rhyahn Jun 7th 2011 6:24PM
His name is Occu'thar. He's the demon that is currently in the middle of the instance. There was a kill video for it on mmochampions the other day.

The current honor gear will also be craftable. New PvPers will start in that, not the 339 (I think?) craftables from this tier. Presumably, in season 11 epics will be craftable.

There is already a vid up of the fight. :D

Does Vicious Gladiator (the one you need rating for) become Conquest gear now?
I'd hope that Conquest points don't convert to Honor. Right??
Matthew Jun 7th 2011 6:07PM
I just read the blue post. It clearly says, Conquest -> Honor. I was in denial.
Bapo Jun 7th 2011 6:08PM
Either you be trolling, or you didn't read the blue post at all... O.o
The gear that needs the rating will be getting removed, and conquest is being downgraded to honor, over flow will be converted to gold at 35s per point.
Bapo Jun 7th 2011 6:09PM
Bah, you beat me to your own comment, ignore my then, lol
Bapo Jun 7th 2011 6:11PM
So if you capped out on both honor and conquest and the pay off of overflow does occur, we'd be looking at 1400g, right?
incoming00 Jun 7th 2011 6:51PM
it looks like you'll be over the honor cap for about a week, which would give u time to buy the conquest gear with ur overflowing honor. 1400g sounds about right if u are 4k over the honor cap.
Jari Jun 7th 2011 7:32PM
There is no conquest point cap.
There's a weekly cap though.
lsprof4 Jun 7th 2011 6:34PM
So after the season's over we can use honor to get the epic PvP weps too? All means all, right?
Johan Jun 7th 2011 6:51PM
It says "with the exception of any items with rating requirements attached. These items will no longer be available for purchase." So, no weapons.
lsprof4 Jun 7th 2011 6:54PM
Crap... thx tho
Bapo Jun 7th 2011 8:10PM
The first weapons didn't have ratings, did they?
