I'll take issue with "trying" to play from Australia. Yes it will be around 300ms, but I still raid effectively - the last thing I'd blame my occasional poor play on is lag ;-)

Ditto New Zealand. 300-400 ping might make or break you on world firsts or in PvP, but it hasn't caused any issues for me raiding. Some of the americans/canadians have more internet issues.
