Maybe I'm wrong - but isn't the Activision / Blizzard relationship more like a partnership than Activision outright owning Blizzard? I was under the impression that Blizzard retained full creative control over all the development of all their franchises (including development timeframes - allowing them to continue with their "soon(tm)" and "when it's done" type release schedules) while Activision mainly dealt with distribution / marketing etc. Which seems to be how Blizzard has always operated from the beginning (albeit with different partners).
