I really don't think they should be worried about what Blizzard would do - I mean look at how crappy Cata has been - no clear game direction, no innovative content.
Major patch 4.1 in Cata has been TWO rehashed Troll Dungeon's.
Meanwhile, Blizzard has had to admit that they have lost 600K Subs or over 10% of its Western Market base - All this while Rift has reached 2 Million Subs and its not a good game either but player's are leaving WoW in droves.
WoW is over 6 years old and is ripe for the taking - if Rift can reach 2 million subs - imagine what a well balanced, well designed MMO will do to WoW.

Not to mention 4.2 is a 7 boss tier, the smallest it's been since 4.2, and is actually the worst major patch in the history of the game. It has the added switch between new valor gear and the old valor gear being moved down to justice point gear, while nerfing this ENTIRE tier of raiding content.

Hate to burst your bubble but Rift does not have 2 million subs, far from it in fact, they don't even have a million yet.

That 2 million number is Trion accounts. Trion accounts are like Battle.net accounts, someone can have a Battle.net account and not play WoW the same goes for Trion accounts especially considering the fact that to even participate in the Rift beta people had to make a Trion account, I should know this I participated in the beta for Rift but did not purchase or subscribe to the game so I have an abandoned Trion account, one that got counted in their 2 million number.
