I really hope there are similar types of items for other classes. Perhaps not identical, but equally powerful from a stylistic point of view. Though, druid forms (other than flight and travel) are so ugly, IMO, that I suppose cats (and bears) most needed this type of thing. ;)

Other classes get customization with every. single. piece. of loot that drops. Don't hate on druids for finally getting some love.

I wasn't "hating" on druids for getting this. I was expressing a genuine desire to get something cool for a class-spec I do play. I wasn't expressing a belief that it was "unfair."As for thinking cat and bear forms look terrible, I've felt that way since Vanilla. The two druid forms that look fantastic (travel and flight) are the ones that actually look the actual animals. The other ones are stylized, and I think Blizzard did a terrible job with them. Personal opinion. Also, on a completely separate subject, I don't consider the gear one collects on each raiding tier (for classes who's gear shows) to be "customization." Customization is about having choices to express your tastes...all the gear Blizzard creates for a tier is meant to look identical so that any combination of them will "go together." The end result is that all clothie casters look identical, many plate-wearers look identical and everyone of same class-spec definitely look identical. So, no, that's not customization. I do agree that non-shapeshifted classes get variation from tier to tier (the gear look changes).

Eh... I don't think realism is really... WoW. I mean, I do like flight form, but travel form is so... boring. It's the same as the cheetah models in the game, so despite it being more realistic, it's also really, really uninteresting (personal opinion). Then again, I'm one of those people who like Neon Explosion!Kitty (troll), so obviously I dig the stylistic art. But WoW is an MMO with a very... cartoonish style overall, and I think that's what makes it so attractive, for me. It's not all brown and green, like more realistic games... the ground can be purple, or blue, and people can turn into bears and stuff...

I should clarify that I'm not against Blizzard stylizing things in general, or their overall art direction. I love it, and prefer WoW's look to that of MMO's with "better graphics" (more polygon counts, more photorealism). I just don't like how they did the druid bear and cat forms. I realize that's purely subjective. One idea I've always had and wished for is that druids could go into the world and select a cat or bear to draw their form from, much like hunters tame beasts that they want for their pets. A similar process, except it would be "adopting a form" rather than "taming a beast." That would be a nice bit of customization for druids.
