Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite class?
This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the AOL guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider's pages.
"Hunter." That's all I should have to say. Well, that and "dwarven hunter," because the only thing better than a hunter is a dwarven hunter. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with the proven fact that hunters are by far the best class in the game. Some people like to wear dresses and conjure brownies, while others like to sneak through the shadows pickpocketing the unsuspecting NPC.
I myself am a die-hard and loyal hunter. My very first class was a rogue that didn't last very long before I made a hunter and never looked back. The hunter is my class of choice for a number of different reasons. In real life, I'm a huge animal person, with multiple animals in the house. WoW is no exception. My stables are nearly full with a wide variety of pets. My favorite pets are named after my real-life pets that have since passed or the ones that like to lay on my feet while I raid. I like that I'm able to not only DPS but have my pet tank or even heal when in a pinch. Those reasons aside, my absolute favorite reason I love the hunter class is always having a pet by my side. After moving and being forced to leave my cat and dog with my mom, I found myself missing them even after I had gone to visit. I took my two favorite pets in the game and named them after my cat and dog. While I have since been reunited with my dog, she still follows me everywhere in game when my cat isn't.
If for some reason you don't agree with the science behind how awesome hunters are, what is your favorite class? What makes them appeal to you over the other classes in WoW?

Back in the day, I'd have said hunter, hands down. Shoikler's a hunter, and at one time, the highest alts on whatever server I played were also hunters. Now, though, I'm not sure. I've been playing every class - my goal is to get one of each to 85 - and I'm not sure there's a clear favorite anymore. I suppose that's a good thing; I'm developing an appreciation for all of them.

^This. I have many alts and love them all for different reasons.
My druid is always number one on the list though ;)
Gendou Jun 10th 2011 8:12AM
Shadow Priest. That's been my main since day one.
I raided Vanilla as a Shadow Priest. That takes dedication to the principles of something no one took seriously until Burning Crusade.
Sure, I've had flirtations with other classes. I spent most of ICC tanking with my Death Knight, for example. And I really do enjoy my Bear Druid for his flexibility and fun.
But I've never once considered another class to be my main. It's always been my Shadow Priest.
Shadow Priest for life, yo.

Rogue, Druid, Death Knight
My wife loves the beginner-mode class (known by some as hunter) because she lacks the video game skills to play a traditional class.
Caliea Jun 10th 2011 9:43AM
I'm amazed at how adeptly you insulted both your wife and hunters.

Always love to see someone bash a class everyone can play. I don't mean that it's easy to play I mean literally anyone can roll any class at any given time. So why bash it? As for having "video game skills" How many addons do you use on your rogue and druid? Yeah. That's what I thought. Play a toon with no addons- no gaming mouse- no fancy gaming PC and then get back to me.
blancester Jun 10th 2011 1:46PM
Addons yep.
fancy pc and mouse... nope.
My druid is my best geared, but only enough for heroics.
Was leveling a spriest and got to 82.

My favorite class is the one at the top of my character selection tab, the one I made on the first day of wow, a warlock. An undead warlock to be exact because the only thing better than a warlock is an undead warlock :)
Shinae Jun 10th 2011 10:55AM
My very first toon was an undead warlock. I got her to level 27 back in BC before I realized I had to switch realms to play with my friends, and then I rolled healers and tanks to help said friends.
That quest to get a succubus in the EK was a paaaain.
darthjeffrey Jun 10th 2011 8:21AM
Warriors are the best class in game, period. No other class has more mobility than the warrior. No other class can hold 2 2h weapons. Walking around looking like a Barbarian from Diablo2 is priceless. Thundercats, HO!
Billlop Jun 10th 2011 8:21AM
Gameplay wise its hunter all the way. I love the pets and being able to do anything. I can tank, i can kite, i can even heal (Bandages + Spirit Mend ^_^).
Lorewise it has to be my Druid. I love their lore, their zones, their cities everything about them is just sooo interesting.
jertanner Jun 10th 2011 8:23AM
I just started a druid the other day and I'm really loving it. I've played all the classes at one time or other, just to see what they are like and I'm realizing that witht he drood you get the best of all the worlds. Plus, you get to change into cats and bears OH MY! Also I just can't stop creating mages. Something about the pure spell caster role attracts me. It's just a different pace of game I guess.
Amritrao Jun 10th 2011 8:26AM
Shadowpriest, before it was destroyed in Cata :(
HDPriest Jun 10th 2011 8:59AM
What to you was destroyed? I'm not trolling, I'm honestly curious as I hated Shadow in Wrath (ran Holy/Disc just to keep ppl from asking me to DPS ever) and am really enjoying it now.
Miliham Jun 10th 2011 10:05AM
How can you honestly say that Spriest was destroyed in cata. Yes we aren't mana batteries anymore, but that was taken away in wrath. I seem to be on top of my guild charts, even to the point of competing with the marks/surv hunter.
Shadow is the only way to play the game.
Thestreal Jun 10th 2011 10:41AM
By broken you mean better right?
adam Jun 10th 2011 8:27AM
Druid all the way he has been my main since I started playing 4 yrs ago. I love being able to fill any role needed and besides boomkins have the best dance in the game. I am currently leveling a warrior and have fallen in love with the class the class itself feels like a true hero. I love the thrill of charging into battle with my sword and shield drawn ready to stop evil in it's tracks
Kurtis Jun 10th 2011 8:29AM
It really depends what I'm doing at the time. Overall, I spend the most time on my feral druid. However, I'm also leveling professions on my DK and currently leveling a warrior through late Northrend. I've got toons of other classes too, but most of them don't even get a token login but every several weeks.
Stabbityfun Jun 10th 2011 8:30AM
Warlock, most definitely Warlock, Stabbi is my first char and still the only one I laugh Maniacally while playing.
It's just fun melting people (and taking the gnome mages' loot)
