It's an ancient measurement of courage. Basically you get:
1 € for every animal strangled with your bare hands.
1£ for every animal strangled with your bearhands.
0.1 £/€ for winning arguments on websites (also known as "1 internet").
10 € for escaping alive from the annual european firestarter festival (held each year in their respective capitols and major cities).
Etc. So 4.99 would indicate at least one major victory in a chainsaw-nunchuck cage fight, but don't quote me on that cause my last one was a while ago and they may have changes the rules on stylish finishing moves.
