The Q actually stands for queer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QueerAs for straight parades, The straight community does not receive any hardship from the general populace. If it where so, i would support straight parades, as ludicrous as it sounds. Currently lots of groups are fighting for their rights, and that doesn't just mean partnership, or "marriage" (a clumsy term to use, since it is almost exclusively used for secular ceremonies)Currently non religious heterosexual couples are allowed to marry. A lot of the flak the LBGTQ community receives is that's against the christian religion, and thus, not eligible for marriage, or seen as an affront the the values. How is non secular marriage not also that? Chew on it for a while. No one is shoving it in your face. If you do not want to know about the issues, don't go to a parade.
