The Queue: Alcohol-free zone

When I first started here at WoW Insider, someone asked me if it felt cool to have my character in header images for articles. I said, "Not really. It feels cooler to be writing the articles." Three and a third years later, I have refined my answer: yes. It's very cool. The big things shouldn't make the little things stop feeling good, people. Appreciate all of it.
Now that the shallow, pretentious life advice is out of the way ...
Capt. Placeholder asked:
I quit WoW around the beginning of the year (After playing around with Cata using the Collector's Edition that I got for my Birthday). The thing is - Is it a good time to jump back in? I plan on creating a new character and what not, I can't get myself to play the old characters because then I will be in the SAME rut I was in when I quit. I want to just play some good ol' PvP and have some fun!
Anyways - Is it good to jump in now? Or should I wait when 4.2 is released?
If your interest is PvP, patch 4.2 doesn't seem like it will bring you anything that wasn't there when you quit. It's a new arena season, but if you're starting a new character, it will likely be awhile before you can touch that at all. If you were a PvE player I would say absolutely, come back for a month, try the new Firelands quests and the raid zone ... but if you PvP, I don't think you'll be pulled out of the rut you were in to begin with.
Jaq asked:
while I know this won't happen in 4.2 or it would have been found by now, will there ever be an update to the gear handed out by the TB vendors? Or will it just be left behind by the times, like the Argent Crusade gear?
I ask because I have nearly 600 commendations and I've had everything from the vendor there for AGES.
I think it's unlikely that we'll see an update to that gear, but you never really know with Blizzard. I don't recall them updating the gear from Wintergrasp in Wrath of the Lich King, and they certainly didn't with any of the battleground-exclusive gear such as the stuff from Warsong Gulch reputation.

I'm a minor and have no plans of ever touching alcohol. I honestly just wish that beer discussions weren't taking up pages of comments on a WoW fansite. Oh well, I just feel sorry for Sacco having to read through all of these to find good questions for tomorrow's Queue :)
Man, I wish Sacco had to do it.
Zahira asked:
Question for the Queue - Alliance on my server is dieing fast and I can't afford to transfer off all of my, and my husband's toons. It would cost us somewhere in the neighborhood of $450 just to transfer off the higher level ones (60+). The Horde Population is thriving though, but being Alliance on my server has become like playing alone in a ghost town unless you are in an elite raiding spot. There are no pugs, hell there aren't even trade trolls anymore. So how do you find out If and when Blizz is considering free transfers off the dying server that is Archimonde?
Blizzard always announces free transfers on the official forums when they open them up, so just watch there. However, you're unlikely to see free transfers off of Archimonde. You are infinitely more likely to see free servers to Archimonde to breathe life into it if its dying than you are to see free transfers off of it to kill it dead.
@efinkg4 asked:
I leveled my alt too fast with heirlooms. Do I need to go back to BC and Wrath to grind rep?
Not unless you want to do so. If you want their associated achievements, if you want the vanity items those reputations may possess, sure. Go back there, have fun, enjoy yourself. If you don't want those things, you don't need to grind those reputations to succeed at level 85. Cataclysm content is the only content necessary to get ahead in Cataclysm.
Ready Check shares all the strategies and inside information you need to take your raiding to the next level. Be sure to look up our strategy guides to Cataclysm's 5-man instances, and for more healer-centric advice, visit Raid Rx.

Question: What did Sacco do to Anne; that she no longer comes on the podcast?
Grumpy Wow Guy Jun 15th 2011 11:31AM
I don't know what he did, but it would explain the restraining order. LOL
RuzGofDI Jun 15th 2011 12:15PM
Restraining Order? What happened?
Are you okay? Are you okay Annie? Annie are you okay? Will you tell us that you're Okay?
Henri Poincaré Jun 15th 2011 12:23PM
Ahh, RuzGofDI, you are one smooth criminal.
Pollex Jun 15th 2011 12:36PM
Right, the show still mentions something about "guests" at the start, but it's been ages since we've heard one.
Derleth Jun 15th 2011 1:04PM
Anne does her own podcast called All Things Azeroth on Monday nights. Wow insider records on Monday mornings. She mentioned there once that doing to podcasts in a takes up a lot of time wich I think is why we dont see her on wow insider show to often.
Phos Jun 15th 2011 6:59PM
I am surprised that she isn't on the podcast more often. If you listen to All Things Azeroth you know that it can be a dreadful experience. Between the show's poor production quality, the male host's negative attitude, and his constant begging for money - one would think she would jump at the chance to join a real podcast.

Mmmm. Got Milk? I do, and I love it.
Delerowen Jun 15th 2011 1:29PM
Why was his comment downrated?
ddbrown89 Jun 15th 2011 1:47PM
Because milk is the work of Satan.
Vrykerion Jun 15th 2011 2:08PM
You don't walk into a Queue and ask for milk.
ladygamertn Jun 15th 2011 2:59PM
Being lactose intolerant, milk makes me throw up and gives me diarrhea... I don't DO milk.
Kole Jun 15th 2011 3:24PM
A representative of the League of Tauren has asked that all mentions of "milk" be edited out of any communications on this website.
Instead the appropriate way to refer to it shall thenceforth be: "white liquid produced by the mammary glands of mammals."
Therefore: Got white liquid produced by the mammary glands of mammals?

Dear Queue,
In vanilla, I had never grinded anything before until they released the quests at Cenarian Hold in Silithus because it was challenging and risked death even with my raid geared hunter and eventually, I was rewarded with what I called then my I win button trinket.
Do you ever think that Blizz will release a patch with daily quests that are actually challenging for solo play even for the best of geared players. Dailies are just a time sink, you can only die if you dc, lag or are not paying attention.
Thanks Xubba

Tol Barad was pretty dicey early on in Cata. Not because the individual mobs are tough but the respawns in certain places are very high. Even now when running on my lock I can get over run quickly. It's not uncommon to see skeletons here and there from other people dying as well. I imagine the new part in Hyjal will have similar high end mobs with quickish respawn times as well.

I always figured the skeletons came from the fact that its a PvP zone. The mobs there were never as much of an issue for me as other players.
Noyou Jun 15th 2011 1:00PM
on non PvP realms PvP is turned off as soon as the battle is over. Of course there are many players roaming around flagged for sure. Outside of the mobs there is the Tank (shark that will gank you if you can't get away) and the opposite faction camp that have guards with 900+ health that will 2 shot you (at least on Ally if you ride by the horde one) if you get near it. A couple times I thought I was far and clear from them only to be shot and run down. So yeah. There are plenty ways to die doing TB. The more you do it like anything the more you learn how to survive. If you play enough toons I'm sure you will find a couple that are weaker at staying alive than others ;)
DarkWalker Jun 15th 2011 1:00PM
I really doubt it. Unfortunately, WoW solo content has been almost pure boredom (from a challenge point of view) for even Heroic-geared players from a long time now. In raid gear, you will most likely be able to stroll even though open world group quests.
Bronwyn Jun 15th 2011 1:14PM
If you make the dailies that challenging for the best-geared players, you are probably making them undoable for people just starting out.
I already have to grind to get gear to do heroics and raids, why would I want to grind gear just to do dailies?
