Having tried it both ways, I much prefer 10 man raids to 25 mans. It's not because of the balance, the gear, or the challenge level. Even though you really can't hide in a 10 man -- if you lose even one person, you feel it -- whereas a 25 man can lose four people and still power through to finish the fight.It's about camaraderie. A 10 man group is small enough for everyone to get to know each other, become friends, and learn to work together as a well oiled machine. Rarely do 25 mans achieve that level of intimacy and synergy. We sometimes forget that under all its theorycrafting loot treadmill veneer, WoW is a social game at heart.
