Regarding Darnassian: Did you ever consider that "Darnass" means something in their language? It could be a concept that both the language and city is named after: maybe an ethnic group, location in ancient Kalimdor, et cetera.

The fact of the matter is that there's a lot of Kaldorei culture and society that's just, well, underneath the waves right now. So much of their empire is lost to us- and so much of their lore is unreported to us by Blizzard. I mean, in the 10,000 years since the WotA... we know of like, two events: the Satyr War and War of the Shifting Sands. You've got to think that some things would happen then, even though their culture is probably rather conservative thanks to their lifespans.
