Instance servers busted, Lord Ahune to blame

It looks like overall it is due to the influx of everyone running the Fire Festival encounter, plus arenas, and normal dungeons.

Our Realm Technicians are looking into it and making what adjustments they can to improve connectivity and performance. If more information becomes available we'll be certain to pass it along.

We have no ETA on when the situation will be resolved, but the most recent post in the above-linked thread was a mere 5 minutes ago as of this writing, so it continues to be an ongoing issue.

But... I can still do Tol Barad, yes? That is all I care about tonight.

No wow insider show today?
Alex Ziebart Jun 21st 2011 9:25PM
The episode will be available tomorrow. The recording day had to be shifted this week.

There's essentially a wall of people running into the BH instance on my server, locked there forever at the loading screen boss.

Lets see, Headless Horseman cogwheel crashes, and now Ahune frozen instances. Sounds like holidays are causing a we bit of trouble. I am looking forward to the hell breaking loose when 4.2 hits whilst Midsummer is still goin on.
SamLowry Jun 21st 2011 11:59PM
Blizz would never drop a patch during a holiday! Think of all the chaos it would cause, the need for rushed hotfixes and patches for the patches while disrupting everyone's ability to participate in a limited-duration event.
Unthinkable, I tell you!

I forget, but hasn't Blizz extended some holiday events because of bugs? Anyone remember? It would be nice to get a few extra days for scythe farming.
TR Jun 22nd 2011 6:47AM
@SamLowry They did last year during a holiday event and there were realms that were down for almost 12 hours because of it; and
@Luke No they won't. One of my guildies missed getting her Long Strange Trip achievement as a result.
Bapo Jun 22nd 2011 10:59AM
They have extended holidays in the past by a day. Brewfest comes to mind. I think there was a time when childrens week was extended too
MusedMoose Jun 21st 2011 9:34PM
Happened to me the first time I tried to run it; I submitted a ticket and a very friendly GM told me about the problem. But I got in the second time and got the achievement, so it's all good. Now I just need to hope against hope for the spell DPS cloak and the scythe. ^_^

I hope you do not get either of those! (reverse loot-ology)
And my priest doesn't either!
hp_hunter Jun 21st 2011 10:01PM
A sign that wow is dying (tm).
Kurash Jun 22nd 2011 3:28AM
Yes. TOO MANY INSTANCES being launched by LOTS OF PLAYERS is clearly a sign that the game is in trouble.
Beyr Jun 22nd 2011 5:22AM
I think he was just being ironic^^
On topic, i had no problem on EU server :)
followthategg Jun 22nd 2011 6:06AM
Keep saying that, there might be a time long into the future where you ARE actually correct!
Sally Bowls Jun 21st 2011 10:04PM
Well this was to be expected.
With any other boss or rep or crafted, when we get a weapon, it is covered in that nasty intellect. This is our unique opportunity to get a stam stick uncontaminated by intellect.
As a bonus, we can use the cloak for several days until we get the 365 quest reward from Hyjal.
