Unfortunately, that seems to be the biggest problem with WoW as a whole. People don't do anything unless they get some sort of shiny item or stat boost from it. People don't run Heroics for fun, they just do it for the loot and points. No one does World PvP any more because you don't get Honor for it.

Alas, for far, far, far too many, the game is not about having fun. It's about getting stuff. Stuff that is supposed to then be used for fun...except they don't like fun! It's baffling.
