Speaking as a casual player (my main just completed Vashj'ir last week), I think more in-game information on raids is GREAT news. I do pug as a healer, and I always feel self-conscious that I am not up to the "level" of play that will be expected of me. Most folks in groups are helpful in getting me geared, but my apprehension remains.I say "Great Job" to the dev team. Not everyone plays as much as they want to - but we want to enjoy the experience when we can carve out the time.

If you're so casual that you have only just finished the first or second cataclysm area on your main, the dungeon journal has no effect on you. The most it will do for you is stop you from wiping your party on 7 month old content so much.Most people don't care about it for dungeons at all, they care that you can get incredibly detailed instructions on how to do even the most difficult raid bosses. The detail is to the level of sentences like "these adds should be taken out of the raid and tanked immediately".These are levels of detail far beyond what wowhead etc gives, and gave away all of the next tier's fights before the raid bosses even hit the PTR.What most people would probably like is a tooltip description of the boss abilities that are used during the fight without being told what to do in them, what causes them to happen, etc. I doubt anyone commenting here can actually speak for any of the absolute world top guilds but as a fairly average semi-hardcore raider, this is what I would like to see.There are two parts to a boss fight. You work make a plan of what you have to do and then you execute that plan. The concern is that with such high levels of detail and even actually telling you what you should do on certain mechanics, the whole first half of this is removed from the game.Just not reading it is a non-answer. You can't force 24 other people not to read it, and if it's there and you're in a competitive guild, you're gimping yourself by not reading it.
