I really don't understand... Where did this idea that you absolutely must have completed all of t11, and pushed into some hard modes, to start raiding The Firelands come from?My guild's a middle of the road, 10 man, type of operation. We only managed to down Cho'gal on normal last week. We're looking to off Al'Akir and Nef in the first week of the patch (fingers crossed), but after that it will be all Firelands. I feel good about our chances of pushing ahead. We won't be at Rag in week 2, or even 5, but we'll get there.Maybe people are just impatient? I don't know... regardless, if it's a one month grind to get the rep gear flowing in, and that's your worry, then you're at worst 30 days behind the bleeding edge, to start. Also, if it's the case that you think need that gear because your guild doesn't have Sinestra on farm, then you probably need to take a deep breath and think again.

Tyler came out and said it, and if you watch some of the fights on L2R they're pretty insane (looking at you Alysrazor.) Given how buggy and tightly tuned 10N was at the beginning of T11, it is totally believable that Blizz would make T12 even harder.

If I understand L2R's difficulty ranking, then the fight you're referring to is 68% difficult, and so is Ragnaros. The other 2 come in a 56%, that's for the ones on the front page. If, not quite, a B is the hardest this stuff is supposed to get on normal, then it's pretty doable by most raiders.Normal won't be any more punishing than the tier before it, just different, and tuned for a higher level of gear to get in the door. There will be a certain minimum gear level to handle the fights, that's not new. The actual fight difficulty won't be any higher. It can't be, really. Why bother with the hard modes at all if normal is impossible for average folks to do? I think it's scaremongering by people who want you to be worse than they are, so that they can feel good about being special. The really special folks are pulling off world firsts, getting awesome mounts, and fancy titles. The rest of us are raiding normal modes, as intended. Anyone telling you that you can't do it is either mistaken, or lying. Unless I'm mistaken, what Tyler actually says is that the gear requirement is on par with T11 heroics. Of course it is, why wouldn't it be? The gear available to start T11 heroics, and T12 is... the same gear. That does not mean that T12 is harder than T11, just that the minimum gear level for entry is higher, like every raid tier before it.I strongly disagree with the idea that if you're struggling on the current tier, you should go back and try the heroic mode of the last tier. If the gear requirements are the same, then you're setting yourself up for failure by doing fights that are, mechanically, more difficult than the T12 ones you're having a hard time with.
