There are far too few people that have seen the original video for this song, and it is so incredibly bizarre that it must be shared. Besides, it's a happy little song ... despite the bizarre imagery. So let's move on to some other happy posts from around the blogosphere involving paying it forward and just generally being nice to people, shall we?

Wait that's Erasure? I like some of their other songs but I never really put two and two together... I always assumed it was some one-off band from the 80's, not a big hit like them!

Erasure is actually a spin-off band from a couple of guys that left Depeche Mode to do their own thing before Depeche Mode was so well known. They had quite a few top 40 hits in the 80s. I saw them in concert once, their concert is pretty much them doing weird stuff like that with 20 other costumed people while singinig.
As for that video, to me it looks like a couple of Night Elves in Northrend doing battle with an undead Chinese dragon Arthas sent to attack them in the Night Elf areas of Dragonblight before they became ruins... or maybe I just play wow too much lol.

One of the greatest music videos of all time.

No, man. No. Always is pretty good, but it is outmatched by Dio's Holy Diver video.

He predicted stumpy dwarves marching slowly through Lagforge with a sword. You cannot deny the godly prescience of Dio.

I remember the first time I heard Always. I smiled so hard that something dribbled out of my mouth. It wasn't drool, it was a rainbow.

Screaming Monkey's post reminds me. I seem to remember a while back, WoW Insider posted a series of articles listing some common phrases to use when grouping with a non-English speaker to help with communication. Basic stuff like "Follow me," "Attack my target," "Please let me drink," etc. But I cannot for the life of me find it. Am I crazy or does someone have the link? Lately I've been getting grouped with some folks who I think speak Spanish or maybe Portugese, either way I only speak English and I'm sure it's as frustrating to them as it is to me.

I remember this, although I can't point you towards it. FWIW many of these things can be handled through macros - /oom for instance will make your character say "I'm out of mana!" or something of the sort. I *presume* that that's translated for non-English speakers.

I'm fine with ESL people. What bugs me is the people who have English as their *first* language and cannot communicate effectively in it. I'm not talking about "OMG teh huntard puled u gaiz loose" - although yes, that does bug the hell out of me, but I can understand what he means. It's when I *can't* understand someone - who is a native English speaker - that I start getting really annoyed and want to put them in a remedial English class until they can type coherently or die, whichever comes first.

I'm suddenly filled with images of unicorns farting rainbows while chasing fairies....hmmm...
