How terribly clumsy of me ...
Imnhd45b asked:
Will only one player per guild be able to obtain this staff at one time or can multiple casters go for the staff together???
There's no limit to the number of people in a guild who can be on the Dragonwrath quest or obtain the staff itself. Admittedly, it'd be pretty tough for all of them to get it at the same time, though!
Katters asked:
Why doesn't WoWInsider play nice with RSS readers? All the other blogs and sites I read allow me to read entire articles, and some comments too, right in the reader itself, whereas WoWInsider requires I click to another page to read the whole article. Am I missing something in setup? Is this intentional? Just curious.
Two reasons. First, some of our articles can get rather lengthy, so it'd be a pain to scroll past them if there were no cut. Second, RSS readers don't generate ad views, which are what keeps our site running.
Embobo asked:
Will a new type of currency be introduced that is equal to 100g?
Unlikely. First of all, in the game's database, all prices are in copper anyway. Gold and silver are just a visual convenience for players. Also, money takes up no actual inventory space, so there's no real need to consolidate it, especially since most players never have more than a thousand gold at a time.
Matt P asked:
If you had to hazard a guess, why does Blizzard still include estimated time of service on in-game tickets? I got one yesterday that said I'd be waiting one year, three days, and thirteen hours.
Well, the estimated time indicator was broken as of yesterday; most days, though, it's pretty accurate. Bear in mind that depending on the nature of your ticket, you might get a faster response than indicated even on a busy day. A "stuck" ticket will usually get addressed faster than a harassment ticket, for example. There are definitely hierarchies for priority.

Q for the Q:
What do you think the possiblity is that Blizzard will start adopting some "quality of life" changes that other MMO's have?
For instance, I played RIFT for a bit to test it out, and while I prefer WOW, some things about RIFT made life so much easier. For starters, if you are farming in RIFT and kill 15 mobs, when you loot one, you loot them all. I can only imagine how much easier that would make life for my Paladin when he is farming cloth in Scarlet Monastery. Also, you can buy dye in RIFT and change the color of your armor, not the actual design, but the color, which was nice for visual reasons. I like my Ice Mage to be in blue and my Fire Mage to be in red. Especially on my Heirloom armor and my lvl 85 epic pieces, where I am going to be staring at the armor for a VERY long time. Being able to change up the color would be nice.
What are some there "quality of life changes" you would like to see in WOW? No major content change, just little tweaks to make life better?
Moeru Jun 26th 2011 2:38PM
Looting is a time sink in WoW, it more or less takes place of more grindy aspects of other MMOs. It seems like we grind a lot in WoW, but other MMOs make you kill 3 times as many mobs with half as much reward for it.
As for the armor thing, this has been touched on before but basically it comes down to visual recognition and asset management. Blizzard already recolors gear for different uses/gear tiers, so letting you change the color would break that. We recognize a players experience through the style, form and color of their gear first, then through further inspection and (hopefully) good judgement what kind of player they are.

1) group loot as you said
2) quest items don't take up bag space like in some games
3) Autodismount/unshift me when I click on something that requires me to be unmounted
4) Huge memorabilia bags - it would not unbalance the game and enhance my memories if I still had my T4 and my DMC greatness and my full soul trader outfit.
5) Blizzard has discussed the whole professions / inventory being "looked at" - E.g. milling 5000 herbs or that mail works much better for mail than for AH returns.
6) fix BoAs - mail to any toon on any battlenet account in any realm.

@Sally Bowls
"3) Autodismount/unshift me when I click on something that requires me to be unmounted"
Doesn't WoW already do this? Did you know that there is an option in the interface, something like "auto dismount while flying" which you can check or uncheck depending on how often you cast something accidentally and fall to your death.
staffan.johansson Jun 26th 2011 3:14PM
@Jack: That applies to you casting spells (or otherwise using abilities internal to you or your gear) while mounted. But there are also certain objects in the game world you can't interact with while mounted, and it would be neat if interacting with them dismounted you instead of giving you an error message, sort of like picking herbs.

@Sally/Jack/Staffan - Try being a druid. You'd be shocked at how many things I -can't- do because "You are shapeshifted." :/
Who says I can't fly a dragon with paws? That's discrimination, I tell ya. >:I

The dragon. There's a limit to what they'll agree to.

Blizzard has added A TON of "quality-of-life" changes over the course of WoW's history, and they will probably continue to do so well into the future. They are also aware of what other developers are doing in all kinds of games, not just MMOs, and there's no reason to think that they wouldn't borrow some of those ideas.

Public quests from Warhammer Online are a lot of fun. If you've never played, a public quest is a continuous, three stage event. If you're in the area, you're automatically on the quest, but you can choose not to participate. If you do participate, you get a reward based on how much you contributed to the event. Some low-level examples were defeating cultists who summoning a demon, and defeating raiders who summon a giant.
The character creation screen on Allods is very nice. Every feature is named or numbered, so you can tell which hair style, face, color, etc. is which. Also - how a character looks on the creation screen is exactly how they look in the world. It's very weird (to me) that WoW's character creation screen doesn't match in-game coloring.

As a hunter I looooooved Moroes. It always felt good to be one of the only folks who could keep one of his adds CC'd.
Ha ha add! Come over here! Ha! Now you're trapped! It broke? Well I'm over here now, better come get me. Trapped again! Muhuhahahaha.

Question for the Queue:
I was reading over the info on the 4.2 dailies and I was wondering about the following.
There's two pseudo-factions(?) that you can recruit. Druids of the Talon and the Shadow Wardens to be precise. What is the difference in recruiting one over the other? As far as I can tell, the rewards only matter on which NPC's you unlock in the end and it's just the dailies that are different for each pseudo-faction. Am I correct or is there more I'm just not seeing?
Raginghobo Jun 26th 2011 2:39PM
You have to choose which rep to obtain first. Your choice should probably be based on what each faction has available.
Krsnik Jun 26th 2011 2:44PM
@Raginghobo
Judging from the info available, it does not seem like each of the 2 pseudo-factions have any rewards at all. Rather, it's 3, unlock-able NPC's that have the rewards.
Sally Bowls Jun 26th 2011 4:11PM
I could easily be wrong, but what I read is that it determines which dailies you can do initially.
You have to unlock both of these to get to the 3 good vendors. And once you have completed them both you can choose your dailies from one but not both.
Krsnik Jun 26th 2011 4:18PM
@Sally Bowls
Ah, okay. That does make a bit more sense. Thank you for the informative post!
Puntable Jun 27th 2011 11:00AM
If that is true, then the question becomes: Which one offers quests that take less time to complete?
Krsnik Jun 27th 2011 11:07AM
@Puntable
Does it really make a difference? it sounds like you'll need to both anyways.
Hypocriticalhit Jun 26th 2011 2:43PM
Question for the Queue:
How many days of 4.2 dailies are needed to unlock all the NPCs (and get the achievement mount) in the area?
blancester Jun 26th 2011 3:47PM
I think its going to take as long as they Argent Tournament did. A full 30 days of dailies or more.
Skarn Jun 26th 2011 4:53PM
According to Tyler over in the Ready Check column, it'll take about 26 days to open the first vendor, 10 more to open the other two. In other words, some time in August you'll start seeing Fire Hippogriffs.
