The Queue: You rang?

How terribly clumsy of me ...
Imnhd45b asked:
Will only one player per guild be able to obtain this staff at one time or can multiple casters go for the staff together???
There's no limit to the number of people in a guild who can be on the Dragonwrath quest or obtain the staff itself. Admittedly, it'd be pretty tough for all of them to get it at the same time, though!
Katters asked:
Why doesn't WoWInsider play nice with RSS readers? All the other blogs and sites I read allow me to read entire articles, and some comments too, right in the reader itself, whereas WoWInsider requires I click to another page to read the whole article. Am I missing something in setup? Is this intentional? Just curious.
Two reasons. First, some of our articles can get rather lengthy, so it'd be a pain to scroll past them if there were no cut. Second, RSS readers don't generate ad views, which are what keeps our site running.
Embobo asked:
Will a new type of currency be introduced that is equal to 100g?
Unlikely. First of all, in the game's database, all prices are in copper anyway. Gold and silver are just a visual convenience for players. Also, money takes up no actual inventory space, so there's no real need to consolidate it, especially since most players never have more than a thousand gold at a time.
Matt P asked:
If you had to hazard a guess, why does Blizzard still include estimated time of service on in-game tickets? I got one yesterday that said I'd be waiting one year, three days, and thirteen hours.
Well, the estimated time indicator was broken as of yesterday; most days, though, it's pretty accurate. Bear in mind that depending on the nature of your ticket, you might get a faster response than indicated even on a busy day. A "stuck" ticket will usually get addressed faster than a harassment ticket, for example. There are definitely hierarchies for priority.

I think it has to do with a quest. Back in the day, there was a quest you got from Magni, which had you kill Dagran, and "rescue" Moira.
*Taken from WoWpedia*
The focus of the quest was to defeat Thaurissan, but leave Moira alive. Upon defeating Thaurissan but with Moira still alive, Moira would become friendly (and therefore unattackable) to players in order to turn in the quest. When all players in the group had completed the quest to save Moira, Moira was replaced by High Priestess of Thaurissan in subsequent runs.

You say that RSS feeds dont generate adds? That's odd because iv seen TONS of RSS feeds that have ads in them.
Amaxe Jun 26th 2011 9:35PM
Same. But I think they mean the ads which are between the articles when you scroll down the main page.

My Q for Queue.
Are the people who designed Archaeology freaking sadists? I hunt and hunt for the troll sword, and then Blizz adds new troll rares. Now I have them, and still no damn sword.
What are the odds I get Professor (18/20 artifacts down) before I see the damn thing?
...what do you mean I sound bitter?
FoxKelfonne Jun 26th 2011 11:36PM
I feel your pain. I've been trying to get the 359 Tol'Vir staff for ages, and even after finishing all of the Night Elf rares, I still get Night Elf dig sites popping up more often than not. I almost felt like putting in a ticket and asking why the Night Elves were allowed to breed like rabbits and cover all of Kalimdor...
Amaxe Jun 26th 2011 11:59PM
Well it's strong evidence against the trolls being before the Nelfs in Kalimdor
Natsumi Jun 27th 2011 1:54AM
Finished Fossil, Dwarf, Draenei, and Orc, I have the professor title, all the Troll Rares except the Sword, and over 150 common troll artifacts completed. You think you're bitter......

Making a platinum (I assume that's what everyone is talking about) would be useless, as the gold cap would be the same (32-bit integer max in copper) So kinda useless.
scherbaddie Jun 26th 2011 11:58PM
deathwing destroyed the old gold cap
scherbaddie Jun 27th 2011 12:00AM
and it was a 32-bit _signed_ integer
RipeTomatoe Jun 27th 2011 2:41AM
actually, it's a unsigned long (or unsigned int) if you really want to get into the science of it.
signed means that the first bit is either 0 for + or 1 for -
scherbaddie Jun 27th 2011 6:07PM
you'll probably never read this now... but:
an unsigned 32 bit integer would have the range 0 to 4,294,967,295
a signed 32 bit integer has the range -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647
if it was an unsigned integer (which I totally agree makes more sense) the gold cap would have been 429,496g 72s 95c
the relationship between ints and longs, if i remember correctly, depends on the processor architecture and maybe the language. Cursory research (wikipedia) says that for a 32-bit unix/dos/windows system, ints and longs are the same (and both 32-bits).
On a 64-bit unix system, an unsigned long integer (as you so boldly claim) would give a gold cap of 34,028,236,692,093,846,346,337,460,743,176,821g 14s 55c
scherbaddie Jun 27th 2011 6:26PM
lol hit reply too fast
also signed means that the most significant bit determines the sign, but it's not as simple as "0 for + or 1 for -" in the case of a signed 32-bit integer, the most significant bit would have a value of -2,147,483,648
2,147,483,647 in memory*: 01111111 11111111 11111111 11111111
-1 in memory*: 11111111 11111111 11111111 11111111
*This is strictly incorrect, but lets not even get started on big-endian vs. little-endian

This also reminds me of the RealID bug. One of my friends hasn't logged since it was implemented- apparently she hasn't been on in 42 years... I think thats wrong.

From ask the devs:
How did Sinestra survive the events of Night of the Dragon?
A: For all intents and purposes, she didn't; when players encounter Sinestra in the Bastion of Twilight raid, she is a husk of her former self, pieced together and reanimated by the powers of Deathwing's Old God master.
Old God master. An old god who can reanimate the dead? An entity so rooted to the existence of Azeroth that you can't simply destroy it, and ALSO has necromancy powers? Lich king, anyone?

So I finished out the quests in Hyjal yesterday in prep for 4.2 and came across the last bit of quests helping Jarrod Shadowsong. Looking him up and reading his lore about him leading armies and uniting banners for the greater good, he sounds like he could be a big name in upcoming expansions, he could even become the alliance version of Thrall maybe? How likely will it be he will be an important guy in the next patch and beyond?

having even enough for flight training when it opens up is rare for me, but i have a habit of buying from the ah every now and then or passing cash to alts for mats or training.
i'm sure it could add up to be at least a few thousand without gaming the ah.
