While I do agree with some of your views, keep in mind there is a difference between helping a guild member and doing the work for them. The player is ultimately responsible for their own preparation and by joining a Raiding Guild you announce that you are prepared or at least making personal strives towards that goal. This doesn't mean you've had 2+ years of raiding experience under your belt. It means your max level with appropriate gear ,gems, enchants, etc and that you have studied the fight well enough to have a general idea of what you should be doing. This usually means going off to "youtube/elitist jerks/etc" before stepping foot in the raid.

Yes, some people learn better by jumping in and trying something. Unfortunately most people who claim that simply don't want to take 15 minutes to study. That 15 minutes translates to more raid time and gives each player a bit of knowledge that prevents yet another raid wipe.

My team took the time to study and we one-shot Magmaw and ODS on our first day as a raid team. Each new boss took us 1-3 attempts at our first try. How many times did your team wipe before your first kill?
