Around Azeroth: Space chicken
If you spend enough time hanging around in the new Azeroth, what with the dragons and kings and beautifully rendered cutscenes, you can be tricked into believing that World of Warcraft is a serious fantasy game. Then you have to level another character through Outland, and suddenly giant chickens are being disintegrated with lasers on an alien world. Ah, well. It's more fun that way. (Thanks to Ruhen of Ysera [US-A] for the screenshot!)

The Warcraft universe is, and always has been, a serious fantasy. What seems to confuse people is that a lot of people have the mistaken notion that "fantasy" means "medieval fantasy", whereas the Warcraft universe has always been one of a fantasy universe undergoing their version of the Industrial Revolution. Dragons and tanks, castles and oil refineries, giant turtles and submarines. Welcome to the World of Warcraft...

Unless I miss my mark, this laser chicken is doing the quest Natural Remedies in Hellfire Peninsula (http://www.wowhead.com/quest=10351). Not shown; said laser chicken being turned into a pulp by Goliathon.
