If you spend enough time hanging around in the new Azeroth, what with the dragons and kings and beautifully rendered cutscenes, you can be tricked into believing that World of Warcraft is a serious fantasy game. Then you have to level another character through Outland, and suddenly giant chickens are being disintegrated with lasers on an alien world. Ah, well. It's more fun that way.
