The Queue: There are 113 days until BlizzCon

Just thought you'd like to know how many days until BlizzCon 2011 (and until we hear about the next expansion, at least theoretically).
In today's Queue, we even answer a question about BlizzCon -- bringing your own folding chair, like a boss.
Necromann asked:
Is there a way to remove the boss icons from my map while in a dungeon. They are obtrusive and annoying. I know they can be helpful, but I'd like an option to remove them.
There's none that I've seen, although I wouldn't put it past Blizzard for there to be a hidden option for this someplace. Let's see if anyone in the comments of today's Queue knows ...
Vine asked:
I read some time ago that it was possible to buy a customised T-shirt with your guild crest printed on it. My guildy's (and real-life friend) birthday is fast approaching, and I looked for such a shirt, but the only site I could find says that they no longer make them. Is there anywhere else I could order one?
SwagDog made them, and it lost its Blizzard license. To be honest, its shirts were not very good quality, anyway, so I wouldn't be too broken up if I were you. As for where you can get them now, nowhere legit is selling them. But if you were to do something on a site like Cafe Press for just you and your guildies, you probably could get away with it. That, or take the design to a local printer and have them do it -- that stuff generally doesn't cost too much (we found all this out when doing WoW Insider shirts the last couple years for BlizzCon, which by the way, we intend to have again for folks).
RuzGofDl asked:
What are your thoughts on bringing a portable chair to Blizzcon? Not to like use inside the convention center. I imagine those lines move often enough to make setting up a chair an annoyance. But for the long line before you can pick up tickets/before they open the doors to the event every morning? Is the comfort of having a nice seat worth carrying around a sack with the chair in it for the rest of the day inside the event?
As long as you don't bring it inside the convention center, you'll be fine. But you can't step inside the building with it -- the security guards will get you. And even if you do get it past them, you won't be able to bring it onto the convention floor.
The lines ... yeah. They're bad -- really bad.

Next content patch...Heroic Scarlet Monastery and Sylvanas going Lich Queen and holing up in an updated Karazhan.
I would pretty much kill for some heroic SM. I think most people would, actually.
Fudge asked:
How do I pronounce Cutaia? Is it cute-aia (as in cute kitty) or cut-aia (as in cutting said kitty open with a pair of rusty scissors)?
From the man himself: "\kə-'tī-ə\ -- rhymes with papaya."

Anyone else just randomly dieing from fall damage?
Soulestream Jun 30th 2011 11:08AM
Depends on what I randomly fell off of.

AGHGHH!!! IT'S SPELLED "dying" GODDAMMIT.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry . . . but listen, if a non-English speaking immigrant like me can spell it, so can you.

I dismounted about 2 yards above the ground last night and took enough fall damage to die. My wife laughed at me for the rest of the night.
I thought I was crazy......
But I'll show them...

Its a known bug that has been discussed on the EU forums.

There have been a few threads about excessive fall damage appearing in places it hasn't before (ie, stepping off a table and instantly taking 10+ hits for 1K damage) but I haven't seen anything about anyone dying from it.
No idea what it's all about though, probably some small physics change that wasn't so innocuous.

Yes - ran over a stump in Dragonblight in front of New Hearthglen and died from fall damage hit. Logs showed 2 fall damages just over 50% of my health, but not the same amounts. Only happened that one time and only one one character thus far.

I was on my flying mount this morning, landed, lost 90% health and got the Going Down achievement. Was very strange.

Pulling Shannox as the tank - he hits me and then I died. Raid was not impressed (healers weren't keen on the 'one-shot' before I had a look at the combat log)!

I've taken lethal fall damage when my flying mount landed on a building while I was flying downwards towards an herb node.
I've also seen a guildie comment about taking lethal fall damage in Vashj'ir while swimming around on his seahorse.

Happened to me last night in Hyjal. I thought I was ganked at first, but the logs clearly show I took fall damage. I recall moving between two elevations of rubble on the ground at the time- maybe some math error caused it? It only happened to me the one time, so it wasn't a big deal.

Nope. But let's see, I die from drowning while chatting, fell off the outland twice on the same toon mining, being too lazy to wait for the elevator in Org and jumping down, pulling too many mobs soling a BC heroic and not having my shield equipped, as well as many other silly things. All legitimate.

I jumped onto the steps going down to Nefarian in BWD. Fell about 5 feet and took over 150,000 damage. My raid starting laughing their @$$ off.
Ace Jun 30th 2011 11:23AM
Another damage bug (or change maybe in this case):
I was standing too close to a fire-lamp-thing in the Org bank and took a 26k tick of fire damage.
Grovinofdarkhour Jun 30th 2011 11:24AM
Same here. On the way from the train to work this morning I tripped on the curb crossing the street, and my entire body completely exploded. Chunks flew like 20 yards. It was a real pain rounding up all the pieces.
Andy B. Jun 30th 2011 11:24AM
On Tuesday, our tank was dying from walking down stairs in BWD. Not even jumping down them, just walking down the stairs. Once he reached the bottom, insta-dead. Needless to say, he wasn't very happy, but it was hilarious to witness.

I was flying in Hyjal for a daily. Landed and died. Thought it was some weird mechanic. Then I see on my statistics page. Falling deaths: 11 now
:(

Had a tank in ZG yesterday walk across Gub's Bridge and die when he got to the grass. We were all amused.
Shepherd57 Jun 30th 2011 11:37AM
I am not dying from random fall damage, but I am being Disconnected from falling. If I jump off any height regardless of whether it would damage me or not, I get DC'd mid fall. It is relly annoying, but I am getting good at running everywhere and landing before I dismount.
Jabouty Jun 30th 2011 12:22PM
We have experienced this mostly in forelands raid. We've dubbed it the toe boss.
See a few years back we had a disc priest who was just absolutely top notch and he ninja DC'd on us in the middle of serpent shrine. He logged in two days later explaining that he had tripped over his headset cable, causing him to smack his big toe and breaking it on the desk which in turn caused him to fall and smash his head on the back of his chair effectively knocking him out and that he'd been in the hospital for the duration for a concussion.
So the random 100k+ damage from walking over rocks in firelands can only be explained by the stubbing of toes.
