I was dating a guy that played WoW. I used to watch over his shoulder as he raided or ran around. I kept asking him what things were, what he was doing, who are those people, etc etc. One day while he was at work he let me make a character on his account. I didn't get very far, mainly because I was running in circles and jumping a lot. He stood over my shoulder and kept trying to tell me what to do for about an hour. Finally I got tired of that and logged off. A couple of days later I had my own account and my boyfriend had rolled a toon to run around with me and show me a few of the ropes. Not long after that I joined the guild he was in, and I levelled and socialized while he raided. His play style was hardcore while mine was relaxed. We didn't sweat it much. We both changed factions and started over on a different server when his guild broke up. Fast forward a few years. Now he and I have broken up, but remain friends and still play WoW together. I am running a guild on yet another server and he is one of our main raiders. I've made several good friends in the game, and met a few of them in the real world. My current boyfriend just started playing. I have passed the addiction on to someone else!
