Was playing DAoC before, was in the beta of catacombs expac, and at same time I had already played in a couple earlier beta's from WoW. I played all the old warcraft games, loved them, and playing around with it in beta just was icing on the cake. DAoC was going down a very bad path at the time, people were leaving the game, and all the others that were still playing it were just waiting for something that would come along so they could leave that game for good. Enter WoW, and the mass exodus that occurred afterwards from DAoC. My entire guild(I was a guild leader in DAoC) was leaving for WoW as soon as it release, all my family and friends did so too.
The only thing the catacombs expac had that was fun were the new classes, and some of them were really fun, but too much of the same old same old persisted and most people were tired of it. Everytime DAoC came out with an expac they would do an upgrade to their launcher and it made the game almost unplayable with the lag the new client would cause(in RvR anyway), didn't matter if you had a high end puter or not, so you almost had to use the old launcher client, and that meant not playing in the newer zones. There were just too many problems to list from DAoC's expansion releases, and pretty much everyone was tired of it.
