Breakfast Topic: What do you during Tuesday maintenance?

While a good portion of WoW's players hold down full-time jobs or are in school full time, there are those of us who work from home, are stay-at-home parents or have a rotating schedule and wind up with a Tuesday off. Unless it's a patch day, everyone knows that come 5 a.m., regardless of whether you're ready or not, you will be logging off for the morning. For people on the east coast like me, that usually means my morning and part of my afternoon.
What do you do if you're home during Tuesday maintenance? When I know I'll be home when the servers are down, I plan to spend the first half of my day taking care of things around the house and running any errands I might have. My daily routine doesn't change much when Tuesday rolls around, aside from getting a few more things done. Having three high-strung dogs means lots of walking, throwing of the squeaky toys, and attacking the carpets with the Dyson vacuum. If there's a movie I've been wanting to see for a while, I'll pick it up and watch that after the dogs pass out. When the servers go down, I treat it like I would if I were taking a break for a few hours or a few days and take the opportunity to take care of my real-world obligations.
Do you plan your day around Tuesday maintenance if you know you will be home? What do you do while the servers are down?

It's currently 10pm here and I have an entire night to waste...I thought it was going to be on WoW but I totally forgot it was Tuesday. (Australia)

You seem to be the first of SEVERAL Australian reader comments. O.o
I'd like to listen to the WoW Insider Show myself, but it seems it's not up in time a lot lately.

This. I work third shift so it works out pretty well for me.

This.
And since Blizzard is doing its maintenance, I do the same. Make sure everything is updated, virus scans are performed, junk cleaned up, full & through defrag.

Me too... I also work third shift, and Tuesdays are "my" Fridays (as in, Wednesdays and Thursdays are my set nights off).
So while I usually stay awake until late in the morning playing WoW, by Tuesday I've been working all week and I'm exhausted... it's nice to be able to go to bed early, without the worry of "neglecting" WoW keeping me awake, heh. And when I go to bed that early I invariably wake up super-early compared to the rest of the week, so I have plenty of time to do my dailies in the evening before work... it all works out!

I nerd rage. Duh. Same thing I've been doing every Tuesday for 6 years.

I feel the best thing to do while the WoW servers are down is read up on lore and visit good time wasting websites. :D

As a Student (college, and done this aug) i have always made sure my classes are during the tues morning. One this gives me the distraction while waiting for tues patches or downtimes....and makes it so ill go to class with no WoW distractions >_

Hah! I used to do this! I'd either make sure I was in class or at work during Tuesdays. Now that I have neither (graduated two years ago), I write my WoW-themed parenting blog, though I'm pretty sure regulars to this site are tired of me talking about it. -resists shameless plug-
But I specifically made Tuesdays my update days because of maintenance. Hehehehe... If I'm experiencing writer's block, I try to do as many chores as possible on Tuesdays.

Australian with nothing to do but sleep.

Being from Australia servers go down in the evening. Very frustrating when you've spent the day looking forward to some WoW time and just after getting the daughter in bed and getting comfortable those yellow capital letters troll me everytime.
Logic says sleep now and get up early to face the day. More likely I'll sit on the forums sulking til 1 am.

Ha. During the summer that's lawn mowing day.
Nina Katarina Jul 5th 2011 8:08AM
Work. And it's nice when our guild website gets visited by the people who are usually playing when I'm stuck at work, and we can chat.
MattKrotzer Jul 5th 2011 8:09AM
Work. Tuesdays are usually one of our busier days in here.

Is it just me, or are the Breakfast topics repeating themselves a little lately?
