"The stomp will deal unavoidable fire damage and cause a knockback to anyone within 20 yards of him when he puts his foot down. Nothing you can do about it except heal through it."Nothing you can do ? You're supposed to jump to avoid the shockwave. Did you even try the encounter ?

The advice was appreciated. The snark at the end, not so much.

>"You're supposed to jump to avoid the shockwave. "Really? I haven't personally seen the fight, but I couldn't find any mention of such a mechanic. Source pls?Maybe you resisted the damage or dodged it, or you were beyond the range when jumping?

@red_dogSource : meIt's similar to those trash mobs in Stonecore. Levitate is not a reliable option though (aoe/various dmg). The stomp is announced ... wait 2 or 3 seconds until the animation starts ... jump.

I'm sorry but that's just not accurate. The stomp cannot be mitigated by jumping or levitating. Perhaps you were lucky and managed to resist a few; I myself saw a few resisted because of fire resistance and the Tol barad Trinket. My source? I went to seek confirmation through Wowhead, tankspot, wowpedia and the in-game's Journal where it is not mentioned anywhere that you can jump to ignore the damage.looking through world of logs of my last fight with him, you'll see Ryolith cast the spell 85 times and all 10 players got hit 85 times from it. Considering statistical fluke, at least one person would have managed to not get hit by it (we have jumping healing druids and I attempted to jump to mitigate the damage here and there)To be sure, I went to see our sister guild on the horde side and they show identical behavior from the spell. There are my sources. The spell cannot be mitigated by jumping.

@sigh Gonna go ahead there and disagree with you. Someone mentioned that to me as we were attempting it, and every time we did jump, still took damage. Confirmed with several other people who don't fail at the stonecore jumping, and watched everyone in the raid try it. We all still took damage.
