The Classifieds: The subtlety of an all-rogue guild
This is a first for me. While I've seen lots of all-elf themed guilds, I've never seen an all-rogue guild. It sounds like a great time, but I'm not sure how they see through all that stealth at guild meetings:
Hey,Thought I'd drop you a line to tell you about the guild I am in on The Venture Co (EU). It is an all-rogue RP/PVP guild which has been around almost since server start. I've been a member over 3 years now and we have over 50 unique players on the roster (we don't allow alts) and most nights we have at least 5, and sometime 20 online which is pretty good for a primarily RP guild of only rogues on a low population server! It is headed by a female Forsaken, Anethrax, who leads and keeps her band of Horde assassins under tight control.Obviously we don't raid or run heroics etc. as a guild, but we run normal battlegrounds sometimes and do a lot of world PVP; we have good relationships (out of character at least!) with many Alliance RP guilds as well as Horde ones. We pride ourselves on including all levels in the what we do, as much as we can -- especially when we hunt alliance. I would say that 90% of the PVP we do, we do in-character (i.e. roleplay). If you want more info then I'll be happy to give you the contact details of my guild leader, Anethrax, and I ran it past him before contacting you of course.Cheers,High Assassin of the Vile Thorn
Random Acts of Uberness
It's when another player lights up your night with precise play, a wicked sense of humor or unexpected generosity that your login becomes something to remember. Share your Random Acts of Uberness with theclassifieds@wowinsider.com. Keep things brief (150 words or less, please), and be sure to list everyone's character names and home realms or battlegroup. Don't be afraid of sending an entry more than once if it doesn't appear; sometimes internet dragons eat email, and we'd hate to let that keep deserving players from getting their due.
Lorenn on Kael'thas (US-A) I made a vial of sands mount for one of his guildies but he had no money to tip, as he was tapped out buying the mats. I chalked it up to a learning experience for myself to negotiate the tip beforehand and was going to just leave it at that. Then Lorenn whispered me. He was going to loan this guildie money so I could be tipped for making the alchemy mount. I was stunned, the tip was generous. I wasn't going to run off and bash UD but now I proclaim their honor and decency. -- Anonymous

LGBT-friendly Sane Asylum has a zero tolerance policy for many hot-button issues. Are you one of those people who immediately turns off Trade chat because it makes you crazy? Looking for a guild home where your brains and personality matter more than your DPS? Looking for an LGBT-friendly guild with a zero tolerance policy toward racism, sexism and homophobia? Looking for guild chat chock-full of snarky comments, Aaron Sorkin references and witty repartee? Sane Asylum of Garrosh is looking for you. Visit www.saneasylum-garrosh.com to apply.
Adult-friendly Oh No Not Again is a guild that's specifically suited to the busy, distracted lifestyle of the grown-ups among us. Oh No Not Again (Trollbane-Horde) is a small, casual, adults-only raiding guild. Since we are all adults, we all have real-life commitments, and our guild policies allow for that -- we don't expect members to rearrange their lives around our raid schedule. We're currently looking for everything but melee dps (sorry melee!) to help fill our roster out a bit. Our primary raid nights are Tuesday and Thursday, 10:15 pm-12:30 am. Warped sense of humor is a plus. For more info, feel free to contact Rhysha ingame, or check out our website at http://ohnonotagain.guildlaunch.com.

My first guild circa 2004 on Stormscale (US) was all rogue - we had a lot of fun. But, back then Tarrin Mill was pretty much it for PVP - oh, and LBR/UBRS and Ungoro was a good time.

I walked into the mage tower this afternoon on The Venture Co. to see a troll rogue sitting there, with 6 stacks of honor amoung theives, I thought to myself "How odd" and promptly flagged myself for PvP...
Needless to say I lost a few limbs and organs.
But yeah, Vile Thorns is a brilliant guild thats doing a great job of keeping both RP and World PvP alive, we just need an apposing guild of Hunters now on the Alliance side >.>

Kaphik Jul 6th 2011 5:43PM
Agreed! Sounds like a lot of fun, too. Damn you Europeans and your cool all-rogue guilds, damn you!

The venture Co FTW!
For non-Rogue RPer's on TVC Horde side there's also Shatterskull Marauders! :3

Wow a whole guild full of Rogues. This will really cut down on my searching for slime when I need it. Kill all Rogues!

You have to see us to kill us. Therein lies the problem ;)

Not sure I'd like a rogue guild never having rolled one, but I heard somewhere of an RP-PVP Alliance guild that is all Paladins. If anyone knows of them (and if they are still around), I would love to hear about it. (And I'm pretty sure they would be able to raid ...).

Hi, Arli here! We had a good fight tonight in Stormwind and then Goldshire against a couple of Alliance rp guilds. Come join TVC (eu) and roll a rogue and join us in battle, we'll make you love playing a rogue :)
Edenvale Jul 6th 2011 5:42PM
LoL, I couldn't imagine the pain of going up against an all rogue battlegroup. I'd feel like I was in Predator. I know that are here...but where.
boo Jul 6th 2011 6:14PM

zarmy Jul 6th 2011 6:37PM
I've wondered why there aren't more fun guilds like this. Make a guild of only undead rogues and call it Deathstalker. Be part of sylvanas personal assassins
Tri Jul 7th 2011 9:15AM

This seems like back before WoW there was an all stealth guild in DAoC, Bedevere server, Albion's. For the life of me I cannot remember the name atm, but if you leveled an infiltrator or scout you really wanted to be in that guild, it was all about RvR for them. And it seemed like it would have been a blast, I had a level 50 infiltrator at the time and was asked to join, but I was already running my own guild then but had no problem if anyone in my guild wanted to take their stealthers to that guild. Wish I could remember the name, it was pretty famous in DAoC anyway.

TVCer here. Yes I know the Thorns, little backstabbing group as they are! They certinately bring Rp to PvP even if it means trying to kill an old friend of Anethrax! Theres other great Guilds on TVC, Like A Group of alliance trying to retake Lordaeron, an (Royal) Apothecary Society, A Horde Warband and An International Trading Company!

And if you don't want to be hordeside on TVC, come alliance side and join The Brotherhood of Shadow, we're a rogue/druid guild. Like the Vile Thorn we're RP/PvP based but there the similarity ends. Emphasis is on fun and eradicating (IC that is) that scourge of Azeroth The Vile Thorn.

I started out playing WoW in an all-rogue guild on Firetree, called Poison Lotus. We actually did 5-mans all the way through Zul'Farrak with an all-rogue group, just chaining stuns (no DR back then). It was awesome. We got to learn from each other's experiences and bounce ideas off of the group. It was like living in a rogue commune, and I attribute a lot of my rogue knowledge to hanging out in the guild. We even had an all-stealth raid of Sun Rock Retreat, with over 60 rogues (across two raid groups) just waiting in Stealth for the unsuspecting Horde to leave their town.
Alas, times have changed and the world has moved on since those simpler times.
