I may have to take another look at the built-in frame again. I run an fairly bland grid/clique combo without any extra plug-ins and almost no customization other than being able to see who my Beacon is on when I'm healing on my Paladin. As nice as grid is, any time I can drop an addon in favor of something built-in, it's a good thing.
