The way I got into fishing was actually through these coins and the associated achievements. My husband was just fishing one day and sent me Murky's coin because, even though I don't have the pet, I'm incredibly infatuated with just how gosh-darned cute the little guy is. (I used to spend a lot of time hanging around the item redemption NPC in major cities, clicking on Murky to hear his vocalizations and watch him do the Michigan Rag. That's how bad it was! Needless to say, the revamped Cookie fight in Deadmines is now one of my favorites.)Lo and behold, my husband touched on another obsession of mine in the game: lore via flavor text. So, my quest to obtain the coins and read their messages began. I kept a couple of my favorites (like Arthas' coin) but had to part with the rest due to a lack of space. /sigh

I love cookie as well. Every time I would run someone through deadmines I would yell out Cookie! before jumping over the side of the boat and gave him the rest of his life off. I hated to do it but he was a mini-boss and had some good loots. I am glad they gave him his due by making him a full boss in the new heroic version. It's too bad he couldn't have escaped and reformed his criminal ways. Maybe opened up a fishing stand somewhere and sold lures or something. Come to think of it Azeroth needs updated fishing hang outs. Ah well, perhaps a missed opportunity there.
