WoW Armory now displaying mounts and pets

The armory has changed drastically from its original interpretation and implementation, adding features over time that give players a more cohesive out-of-game experience. What is most interesting are the potential tie-ins later on with the previously announced WoW APIs coming down the pipe in the near future; we are still unsure of the amount of data that developers will be able to access from the WoW armory. I would not be surprised to see collected pet and mount data also being part of that package.
We've got a pretty full-featured armory at this point. What other types of data do you think the armory could or should provide? Perhaps next we'll see a tabard and title tab, showing players' collected tabards and a scroll list of titles earned. The sky is the limit, apparently.
We recently updated the character profile system with a brand new feature to help you track your loyal companion pets and stalwart mounts.
A visit to your character profile will reveal a new heading entitled "Companions & Mounts." There you'll find a complete list of in-game pets and mounts that your character can discover throughout Azeroth (and beyond). The list is conveniently divided between those that your character has already collected, and those that you have yet to find.
Still pursuing a particular pet? Mad for a magnificent mount? Just mouse over the object of your desire in the Companions & Mounts page and you'll see information that should help make your next hunt a success. You can filter the results to make it easier to find pets and mounts from a particular source, or sort them by rarity to help you plan future collecting expeditions.
The update is live, so head on over to your character profile to visit your pals right now!

Preach on!

I personally doubt this will come back, since they ditched the grayed-out 3D option a while ago...
... but I do still hope it comes back, and they were just cleaning out clutter until they were ready to implement that feature again.

I wish we still had the ability to make custom poses for our characters. That was awesome.
arkhan Jul 8th 2011 1:09PM
Perhaps next we'll have the goddamn 3D model viewer back instead of this horrible static snapshot in awkward poses.
gonna.get.taken.home Jul 8th 2011 2:30PM
Yeah, it's odd since WoWHead has the 3D model and yet the official site doesn't. The armoury can also take days and days to update; it took about 6 days for my new mage to go from being a generic "mage shadow" to actually looking like herself.

Speaking as a Hunter and an Achievement Hunter. This is very welcome.
I would like to see World Rare's/Rare Elites I've killed with pictures and where I killed them too. As well as ones I haven't killed yet. :) I know it isn't the same as collected pets, companions, but it would be a cool feature to see who I have killed already, without constantly checking in-game all the time. :)

I wish the ability to view your guild bank was returned. I found it very useful in the past.

=( I get:
503
Unavailable
"This service is unavailable to any character under level 100."
When I try to go to that.
Snuzzle Jul 8th 2011 1:16PM
Better get levelling then. :P

try to refresh the page, worked for me, though the armory is pretty buggy right now. My toons have titles like "Grand Master Miner" or "Prophet" so I don't even wanna know what's happening there.
Jaq Jul 8th 2011 2:56PM
Yeah, I went to check this feature out and first was told I needed to be level 100, then told my main was using "of the Nightfall" even though I was logged in and could clearly see my KIngslayer title. A little on the buggy side.

"My toons have titles like [...] 'Prophet' so I don't even wanna know what's happening there."
Crowd: He is the Messiah!
Brian: I am not the Messiah!!
Crowd: Only the true Messiah would deny himself!
Brian: Fine, I am the Messiah.
Crowd: See, he *is* the Messiah!
Bapo Jul 8th 2011 1:27PM
I like the idea of this, helps makes it a lot easier in seeing where everything comes from. As well, WTB model viewer back!
Bapo Jul 8th 2011 1:38PM
Also, Corrupted Fire Hawk looks AMAZING
Ves Jul 8th 2011 1:33PM
I'll stick with Breanni, thanks.
DonNochay Jul 8th 2011 1:55PM
I assumed this would be the majority of the WoW communities feelings on this.
Neodarkmatter Jul 8th 2011 2:31PM
I will be sticking with her as well but maybe now she will be able to query the armory for the info rather than it be a manual process?
