Leveling a mage is so much easier than it used to be. I gave up on my mage after constantly dying from murlocks at level 12. Attacking one murlock and another 4 following it made me soil my dress. I leveled a worgen mage to 34 and just recently deleted it (big wolfmen don't look cool in dresses... recreated as a female draenei). It was so much easier!

LOL. Sounds like my mage. He was my first toon. I abandoned him at lvl 14 after pretty much the scenario you described. Then finally after hearing the good things about frost made the change. Easy as pie after that. Now I am often on alts (my mage is an alt but he's like 1a now) commenting that my mage would have no problem doing this or that. And as for the Worgen- I deleted my 44 druid. Couldn't take the constant sniffing and the fact that 95% of the time I would be in my human form- and the human is my least favorite WoW race :( if I would roll a new mage today I would make them Draenei for the 1% hit or Gnome/Goblin because they are cool :)
