About Teldrassil, yeah, it was a new home that Frandral decided to create for the Night Elves (most likely in an island previously inhabited by them, which would explain the templo of the moon in darnassus, which seems like a building from 10 000 years ago). But the Night Elves have been living in all of northern Kalimdor for thousands of years, and that includes all regions surrounding Hyjal, like Ashenvale, Darkshore, Azshara, Felwood, Moonglade and Winterspring.
